Defence Against the Dark Arts

Amanda's eyes went HUGE. Her back up glasses seemed like a pair dolls would wear. "The Shielding spell? The Shield Charm causes some protection to jinxes, curses, and hexes to rebound upon the attacker. It can also cause a shield to erupt from the caster's wand... But it can't reflect major spells..." Amanda read this from her notes. Which because of her doodles, was her hand ^^

Kelsi took notes down, humming the marriage song. This was win. Two friends already in lurrrrrvvvve

"Good answer!" roared Moody. "Five points for Hufflepuff! Anyway, the Shield Spell takes some practice to learn, and..."

Amanda shrunk in her seat. Using her nifty muggle notebook she took notes ^^

Kelsi, who would get frustrated if she couldn't do the spell right, wrote at the bottom and kept going over it messily:
TAKE YOUR TIME.

Amanda continued taking 'notes' which were actually doodle notes ^^

Rachel figured with a little practice and patience, she would get it. If she was just able to do that, she would be able to learn it. But a minute later...

"Dang it! Why aren't I doing it!?" she said angrily.

Kelsi continued to practice herself, but all her wand would do is vibrate and buzz.

Amanda moved her wand frustated. "PROTEGOOO!" Nothing happened.

"Patience girls!" said Moody, as he clomped over to them. "You need patience, AND DILIGENCE TO LEARN THIS SPELL!"

Amanda turned to Rachel with a blank face for the poster of this needs to know "...What does diligence mean?"

Kelsi kept repeating the spell, and doing a small, unworthy movement with her wand. This was harder than she thought, and she already felt that feeling that she had to rush and just get it over with.

"Errr, I'm not sure," said Rachel as she repeatedly hit her wand against her desk. "Dang it, I'm usually pretty smart in this class! So why can't I learn it!?"

Robin, being the smart-@$$ she is, called across the room,
"Didn't he say it takes time to learn?" in a sickly sweet voice that would do no harm.

Laura the jerk laughed insanely. "Wa wa... Be quite ---" Some threw a pointy quill at her as she spoke ^^

Amanda blinked. "Clear your mind ... Me still and confindent... BUT NOT COCKY ... Protego." Amanda whisked her wand camly and slowly ... And then -- Snoopy appeared nothing happened. "GAR!" She tried over and over and over >>

[SNOOPY! ]

Liv sat up slightly and picked up her wand. "Protego." A really weak shield appeared. "Kaythere...?"

Amanda waved her wand again and Woodstock appeared ^^ nothing happened. A small yellow head popped out of her book bag. ^^ Pinkie the cat jumped out and walked up. She meowed at Moody.

Moody stepped on the cat with his wooden leg


The tip of Kelsi's wand turned whitish.

[Woodstock is more beast than Pinkie.]

Pinkie jumped onto his desk.
Of course Amanda didn't see her silly little cat and continued trying. She waved her wand. The small little dot of a shield appeared. "WHHOOT!" She kept going.

Rachel turned around and smile too. "Yes, in fact, he did. And I see you're making no progress yourself, Robin."

Liv was content with her crappy shield. So, she resumed resting her eyes.

"Isn't that what he's expecting? You could say that to anybody in this class, especially yourself." Robin continued trying to do the spell.

"It's- Not- Working, dammit! Protego!"
Her wand got whiter. Small stuff poofed out with the sound of a fart.

Amanda tried again. This time a very poor but still something shield appeared... A second later it went POOF.

She continued with a face ^^
