Somewhere between the second and third floors

[CHILDREN NEED TO POST]

Olivia was sitting on the stairs, just chilling, thinking about what to write to her parents, Angel, and whoever else she decided to write to.

"RAA!"

Rachel jumped up behind Liv, and grabbed Olivia's shoulders, hoping to startle her.

"HOLY-" Olivia jumped down to the landing - fortunately, it was only two steps away. "Girl, I'm going to kill you."

"Sorry, you can't. Because I'm a pureblood. Which automatically grants me high-ranking powers amongst the dirty half-breeds in this institute." she said darkly.

Olivia stared at her, wondering what on earth she was meaning by that. "Uhh... good for you, so am I... small world?"

Rachel waved a finger around in Olivia's. "Sarcasm, my friend. Or, I guess you could have call that an impression of Professor Snape."

"He's lost his marbles, that's what I think." Olivia sat down on the bottom step and resumed her Thinker-mocking pose.

"Agreed completely!" Rachel hopped down to the step next to her, and sat down, staring at her pose. "What are you thinking about? Contemplating things like the Theory of Relativity?"

"Summarized, yep." She closed her right eye. It had been bothering her since the train ride.

"Is your eye okay?"

"Stings."

Amanda uneasily began to walk into the scene as she shifted her eyes about until they landed on Rachel and Olivia. "Hey guys!"

"Hi Amanda," said Rachel nodding at her, and she then turned her attention back to Liv. "You could go to Madam Pomfrey's."

"Nah, probably just allergies..."

Kelsi was coming up the stairs at this moment, from the common room. She saw Rachel and Liv. "Hey, you guys." She said quietly, with a faint smile. "Some feast..."

"GERTRUD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" hissed Rachel very sharply, in the same tone a mother would use when reprimanding her child. "You should go be in your dorm hiding under your bed or something!"

"Chill pill, Rach." Olivia stared up at Gertrud with disapproving eyes. "Where did your accent go?"

"Oh, honestly! Olivia, it's YOU I haven't told!" Kelsi hissed and slapped her forehead. "I thought it was Amanda, I slipped her a note- hold on." she fished through her pocket, spinning around like a dog chasing her tail, and pulled out the note. "Here." It said that it was really her, and she sighed sadly. "I don't want to stay in there, nobody's there, and it's really different. And lonely.."

"Psh, I knew this." Olivia tossed the note over the railing. "And, try being the only one of your lot in your house, ever. It's a joy."

"Aww..." Kelsi hugged Olivia. "Hey, look on the bright side, at least it's just the nights- and your smaller free time area. You've got us for the rest of the day."

"Yeah, yeah, I've put up with it this long, I can take one more year."

"An entirely different one more year.."

"Yeah... No one's homework to steal, no one trying to take my chair..."

Amanda sighed, "Life is different."

"Sucks." Olivia rubbed her forehead. "I should have just dropped out."
