An Apartment On The Eastern End Of Diagon

"Yeah, Holly. She's definitely not a doormat. Friendly, kind, but... she sure can slap, I'll tell you that." Libby stretched out, readjusting the blanket a little. "Are you cold?"

"A bit..." he lied. His eyes lingered towards the blanket-not because he was actually cold, but secretly because he wanted to get closer towards Libby.

Libby scooted closer to him, so they were sitting right next to each other. She spread the blanket over him. Admittedly, it was a lot warmer this way. Why didn't she think of this in the first place?

"Is that any better?"

"Much better." he said quietly, with a smile.

"Has anything exciting happened at work?" she asked softly, feeling her eyelids droop. The warmth was making her drowsy.

"Not really..." he mumbled. "I found some nice diamonds, and a couple of moonstone gems I really like..." he to, had a hard time forcing himself to keep awake.

Libby readjusted herself so she was using Max's shoulder and part of his chest as a headrest. "It must be nice searching for treasures," she commented as her eyes slowly shut. "You'll be rich in no time, huh."

He smirked. "That'd be really nice." but, his eyelids were slowly drooping down.

Libby murmured something incomprehensible, before drifting off to sleep curled up next to him.

Soon enough, about ten minutes later, Max drifted off as well.

When Libby woke up the next day, cuddled next to him, it took her a moment to remember what had happened the night before. Max was still sleeping. But, rather than getting up, she readjusted herself. It just felt... right. Besides, it was a Saturday, she didn't have to go to work.

A couple hours later, around nine, Max woke up. He found himself staring into the fireplace, with all the gray ashes and burnt up logs in it. He must have fallen asleep right there. Max turned to look next to him, and sure enough, there was Libby.

"Hey, Lib. Wake up." he urged quietly, with a little nudge.

"I'm awake already," Libby had mumbled, stretching. "I've been awake, actually. I didn't have the heart to wake you up, you looked so peaceful in your sleep." She playfully smirked at him.

"Ohhh..." He was quiet for a moment, and he just stared into the ashes in the fireplace.

"Lib. Do you want to go out for dinner or something later?" he asked quickly. "Later tonight, I mean."

"Uh, sure!" Libby answered a bit too quick. "Alright. Yeah. Dinner sounds nice. Where at?"

He shrugged. "Er... where ever you want."

"Oh, come now!" she grinned. "You asked me, you should know."

"I don't though!" he said, looking a bit surprised. "It was just an idea. Besides, you're the date. You should decide."

Her heart jumped a couple of beats at the mention of the word "date." "Um, okay... how about just a couple of drinks at the Leaky Cauldron?"

"Right sure..." he mumbled. But, he smiled at her. "That's easy enough. And cheap."

"Are you calling me cheap?!" Libby yelled, pretending to be offended. She then joked, "Max, you need to treat ladies with respect."

He laughed. "Okay okay, sorry Mr. We'll go out around seven tonight. Is that okay?"

Libby slapped him in the back of his head. She grinned anyway. "Yeah, sure. That'll be great."

Libby was sitting around one night, in a small black dress, waiting for Max to get home. They had agreed on a formal, at-home date. Ever since they'd started dating again, Libby had felt... happier. But she kept thinking about what Max did back in sixth, seventh year? and it worried her still. However, tonight she had prepared a nice fancy meal, with the candles lit and all of that. It was just a special night, the two of them.

About ten minutes later, Max came home from work, wearing a very nice suit. He wore a white button down shirt, with a dark blue blazer, and nice trousers, and he had certainly cleaned up from all dirt and grime from his job earlier.

Indeed, he WOULD have looked perfectly handsome and smart if it wasn't for that dorky Christmas themed tie he was wearing.
