The band music stopped. Then, started over, signaling for the competitors to come out.

And so they emerged from their tents. Some other dude stood up and started announcing so and so, who will go in first, and last, and so on.

So all the people entered the maze, and we could see what was going, but they couldn't hear or see US, so it wasn't much use.
