"The battle. You were there, right? Of course you were. Well, I... I killed two people. Students. They were on OUR side, Clyde!" Wallace was speaking quickly, stumbling over his words like giant boulders on a... road... in the desert... with cacti.

"... Clyde... What the hell did you get yourself into." Clyde grabbed his shoulders tightly, forcing Wallace to look at him. "Wallace, explain slowly."

Wallace's eyes went down to Clyde's shirtless torso. "You should really eat more," he said, poking his friend's prominent ribs.

"I... I eat a lot of---" Clyde began to violently blush. "Hey! Stop changing the topic! What the hell did you do the night of the Battle, Wallace!?"

"I... I killed two students... and... drank their blood..."

Clyde let go of Wallace's shoulder's, stumbling backwards in to the kitchen counter, feeling behind him for some sort of weapon. "You're a vampire?"

Now that the main point was off his chest, Wallace began to relax a bit. He regained his air of... err, sparkle-ness. "Then by some off chance, Amanda finds me in the middle of it all... Honestly, what are the odds of that?"

"...Amanda isn't going to tell anyone you killed them. She probably has no control of her emotions of that mo-- Did you bite her!?"

He leaned against a cabinet, watching Clyde fumble for a weapon of some sort. "Possibly."

Clyde's eyes were wide with fear, for the first time in his life, he wasn't able to read his friend like a book. "Wallace, I'm sorry it came to this. Goodbye!" Clyde threw what he thought was a knife at Wallace... Which ended up being a carrot which just hit his chest and fell to the ground.

Wallace stared at Clyde, awestruck. He clearly got the point, even if the projectile wasn't exactly the one it was meant to be. There was a painfully drawn-out silence. "Clyde?"

Clyde clutched the counter so tightly his knuckles were turning white. He miserably looked down at his feet, and voice cracking he said, "Wallace. I'm sorry. I didn't know if you were going to like, suck my blood."

He bent down and picked up the carrot. "I'm only a half-blood... I won't need any more for another few weeks."

"How have you been surviving during the school year?" Clyde stared blankly at his friend, feeling the weight of two tons of remorse thrown upon his shoulders.

"The school knew, they let me go hunt in the forest sometimes... animal blood's near unpalatable, though." He bit off the root-like end of the carrot. Five second rule, you know.

Vampires... when they in a situation of pressure and death like the Battle, they go crazy. He didn't mean to kill them. "Wallace, did Amanda get away? Or did you kill her?..."

"No, she stupefied me." He wrinkled his nose. The carrot tasted like it had just been dug up, and there was a hair on it.

"So she shot the spell at you when you bit her?"

"I think so, it all happened pretty fast. Anyway, that's why I missed graduation. I couldn't face anyone after that..."

"Wallace, there were tons of bodies that night. They won't know it was you."

"They could figure it out easily enough!"

"Well, lay low. Just calm down. Wallace, it will take them weeks to clean up the school, so.."

"They'll be done by now, school starts in only a few days... which means they've probably already taken care of the bodies and since I'm still here," Wallace spit out the chewed-up carrot bits into his hand. "I'm probably off the hook!"

Clye was trying to tune out anything his friend said about the topic. He just got his groggy, cranky tone back and said, "That is disgusting. Go wash your hands."
