New Cruise House

"... WAIT, YOU CRASHED OUR BOAT!?" yelled Olivia as Serenity was leaving.

Serenity froze, and slowly nodded. "I need to go give this to Angel.."

"... Um ... I could just nag him enough so he'd get us back on the Floo network ..."

[[They don't live on Forest Hills anymore, Serenity. Technically she has to take a fireplace, or something.]]

Serenity went back inside.
"Nag him. Please."

"... I will. I'd feel bad about taking your boat, but then I'm stranded otherwise 'til I can apparate."

"But then I won't be able to see you all summer. Take it, but promise to pick me up whenever, WHENEVER, I want to see you, okay?"

Kelsi crossed her arms. "Can you just go, now?"

"No, Kelsi, I can't just go now, Olivia's my best friend, and I want to see her at least once this summer! S-T-F-U!"

"Well, then can't you just wait until later this summer?" she said angrily. "Can't you see I'm hanging with her at the moment? Maybe just wait four days and then you can have some time with her. But it's pissing me off how you're not letting me have some time with her."

"In case you haven't noticed, Kelsi, she doesn't have a sticker on her forehead saying it's "your time to be with her." Are you this protective with Drew? Your ALMOST boyfriend? I've broken up with more people than you've liked. Pitiful." Serenity turned around and went home through the fire.

"You're the only one here who has!"

"...I was just trying to get her out. GOD SHE PISSES ME OFF! How could you put up with her for this long?!"

"I don't remember her being this... bitchy. I mean, she would mess up my hair and stuff, but she's never yelled angry monologues."

"She always got mad at me. It just bugs me that she's always running into other people's homes as if it's okay. AND IT'S NOT!" Kelsi screamed at the fireplace as if Serenity could hear her.

"It really isn't. When I think about it, whenever she came over, she never really talked to me at all..."

"She didn't? Well, that IS a waste of floo-powder."

"Usually she'd try and give me a makeover and then ditch to bother Angel."

Kelsi didn't say anything. Sure, she was talking behind her fr- Serenity's back, but she won't go as far as spitting out angry thoughts about her.

"Hey, Kels?"

"Yeah?" She walked across the kitchen to put the bowl of leftover orange pudding away and put the two dirty smaller bowls and spoons into the dishwasher.

"All of us... Why are we even friends?"

Kelsi took a while to let this sink in. "...Not sure. Because we've got each other and... no matter how many times we'll yell into each other's faces, or cut each other's hair, or- or whatever, there'll always be that bond that held us together all the other years, I guess. And, because some people come with the seasons, others come with a reason. We're all friends for a reason, no matter how little and worthless that reason may be, I guess. We've all helped each other through hard times- I guess what holds us together is how we've changed through all the years and how much we care for each other." Kelsi turned and stared at Olivia. "We'll need it this year."

Olivia leaned on the wall. "That was inspirational."

"... I can't believe that came out of my lips." Kelsi said with a laugh.
