Breakfast!

Selia sat down at her table, bouncing up and down in her seat excitedly, slapping jam on her toast.

Serenity sat down far away from Selia, stabbing eggs repeatedly with a knife.

"You stab those eggs, you stab them until they cry for mercy." Olivia had somehow predicted where Serenity was going to sit, and had taken the spot across from her. Divination class was really paying off.

Serenity laughed, and stopped stabbing the eggs. "It's fun, it really is. They bleed their yellow guts all over the plate, and then when you keep stabbing, it all bubbles up into mush." She spooned up the murdered eggs and put them on a piece of toast like you would jelly, and chomped on it.

"Far out." Olivia wasn't feeling very hungry that morning, so she decided to just watch Serenity enjoy her breakfast. Watching, staring...

Serenity got another egg and started stabbing it as well.

Staring...

Amanda waited for Wallace again.

And Wallace was with his own people at the Gryffindor table, laughing it up and generally having a FABULOUS time.

Amanda walked over, furiously blushing. She tapped his shoulder, weakly smiling. "Happy late Christmas!"

Wallace was looking exceptionally glittery that fine morning, especially under the artificial sunrise that glowed above. "And a happy belated Christmas to you too!" he said with a smile almost as bright as the ceiling.

Amanda handed him a box wrapped in bright blue paper that had gold sparkles on it. "I think you will love it."

"Oh, it matches my face!" And without any adieu, Wallace tore the paper off, and stared down at the gift, eyes lighting up like those of a first year seeing the castle for the first time. "I-it's..."

Amanda brightly smiled. "I was hoping you'd like it! I picked it just for you!" Monoply Jr. 'u'

"How did you know?"

Selia got up and left for her first class.

"I remembered you playing Mouse Trap!"

"Oh, right, right."

"So you like it?"

Wallace nodded, shaking the box and listening to the delicious rattling of all the little plastic game pieces clacking against one another.

Amanda was about to say something, but she was cut off by a panting Clyde who held a messily news-paper-wrapped gift in his hand. He tossed it into Wallace's lap.

"Happy belated Christmas!"

"Didn't you already give me something?"

"No... No my owl was missing last week so I couldn't. And the postage area was snowed in."
