The Great Hall.

Students were lining up at their house tables, blah blah blah.

Clyde stood beside the door, pushing his way back to it everytime he was pushed away.

Amanda stood at the Hufflepuff table, her eyes still red and teary but she had stopped crying. She was stand extremely straight, and rubbing her glasses on her shirt to remove the water blotches.

Wallace was not there.

Olivia was somewhere in that crowd, too busy with her own thoughts to eavesdrop on what was going on. It's not like she cared, anyway; it was probably just someone letting a stinkbomb off in the Dark Arts room again or something stupid like that.

"... Evacuation will be overseen by Mr. Filch and Madam Pomfrey. Prefects, when I give the word, you will organise your house and take your charges, in an orderly fashion, to the evacuation point." Professor McGonagall said, and walked off. And so, as said was told.

And the battle began.

And the Voldemort thing and the Pansy thing and the people who didn't want to fight...

Amanda blinked. That's it? So I should just prepare to fight if I'm not evacuating?

OH. RIGHT. Kind of skipped that.


Suddenly a voice echoed through the school. It was raspy, and rather frightening. "Give me Harry Potter, and none shall be harmed. "Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded. You have until Midnight."

Amanda was about to drop to her knees when he said that, she grabbed the table for support. The last of my family...

Olivia wore her usual blank stare. "Voldemort, huh..." She wished that pumpkin juice had been served.

"Well, let's give him what he wants!" came the shrill voice of Pansy Parkinson.

Amanda found her voice and screamed out. "Damnit! If we give him Harry then it will be worse than it is now! He's one of our last chances!"

Amanda's shout blended in with the rest of the three houses, all drawing their wands and releasing their rage over what Pansy just said.

Then everybody went in front of Harry Potter, and protected him.

"... Right. Mr. Filch will be escorting you out of the hall, Ms. Parkinson. Anybody else who wants to leave, please do so now."

And the entire Slytherin table got up and left.

Yes, all of them.

Amanda stood near the back of the crowd, meaning closer to Harry. She was trying to get his attention, but it wasn't working.

Rachel was walking in the Great Hall, the one safe refuge. She then couldn't help but look at all the bodies, and she saw Karin's.

She immediately dropped down to the floor on her knees, and she clutched Karin's hand, and she began to weep softly all over again.

Sure, there were always fighting, disagreeing, to the point where sometimes they wouldn't speak to each other at weeks at a time, but there was still that sisterly connection.

And that connection was gone forever.

And, this whole time, Rachel had been grieving. Just stroking her sister's cold white hand, or stroking her long, slightly knotted red hair. And, she was weeping the entire time, of course.

Serenity came up behind Rachel and put her hand on her friend's shoulder. "Rachel.. That's your sister, isn't it? I'm sorry."

"Yeah... this is Karin." Rachel then took off her cloak, and placed it over Karin's stomach to cover up the wound. "I'm not sure if you've met her before."

"No, I never did meet her. Wow, she was really pretty. Rachel, I just.. This is horrible."

"It is..." she rubbed her red eyes, which were down burning from all the tears. "I don't see your sister here, so she must be okay." She looked over at Serenity. "I hope this Battle ends soon-this whole war does, so we can move on with our lives."
