A Flat in Diagon Alley

"We're actually saving it for a surprise! But, I'll be happy no matter what gender the baby will be."

"That is the most sweet thing I've ever heard! That adds so much more surprise! So, what have you been doing lately?"

"I HAD a part time job at Madam Malkin's for a while now, but I was getting pretty big and tired, and I couldn't do all that I needed, so they're letting me take time off.... you're at Pendragon, right? How is it?!" she asked excitedly. "It's great you're getting a college education like that."

"Really great! I met a lot of new people, one of which likes the book I'm writing, and works in her mother's publishing business, so... I'm really worried about Olivia and Serenity. Olivia dropped out in the middle of the first semester, and probably is with Serenity. They aren't on the island, because Olivia would have replied to owls..."

Rachel frowned a bit. "That's great about school... but where the heck do you think Olivia and Serenity could be? When it comes to Liv, she's practically a hermit with that island!-she never leaves it. And Serenity... she's probably getting into trouble, and she's dragged Olivia into it."

Amanda gripped the chair she was on tightly when she though of something. "Rachel... Serenity and Olivia were joking about something one day... and I think..."

"What was it?!" she asked sharply.

Amanda put her head in her hands. "I-I walked in at the beginning of the summer, and Serenity yelled at Olivia jokingly about how she wouldn't get anywhere in Serenity's pimp business if she kept dressed that way..."

Rachel's eyes widen, and she stared at Amanda. "...Do you really think? Serenity couldn't honestly be THAT stupid."

Amanda looked back at Rachel sadly. "10 boyfriends a month, a bunny suit, should I continue?"

"Nevermind then... honestly!" Rachel walked over, and stared out the window, and snow covered streets of Diagon Alley. "Why would anyone want to do that to themselves?! How can people be so... empty! It really makes me mad!"

Amanda sighed. "It's a trouble world." Amanda stood up, and stood next to Rachel. "But, I guess money does crazy things to a person."

"Consumerism." she said simply. "But, we need consumerism if we want to keep the economy staple-you know what, never mind." she shook her head, and smiled at Amanda. "Let's keep things happy!"

"Because right here, right now, is a happy moment!" Amanda said in a gleeful tone, changing completely from a minute ago.

"Exactly!" Rachel was quiet again. "Do you miss Hogwarts?"

"...Yes," Amanda said frowning, "I miss the days of learning something new everyday, and all the familiar faces. And seeing you guys 24/7 was nice."

"I miss it sometimes." she shrugged a bit. "I miss seeing you guys too. But now, my life so peaceful and steady, I like that, even if it can be a little dull sometimes."

"That's a great way to think about it!"

She smiled at her. "Yes, you're right. But, I wish I could have gotten good grades like you, and got a proper job."

"Well, you have a husband and what will be a beautiful child!"

"You have your independence though. I kinda miss that..." she admitted.

"It's a lonely road though."

"Will you ever want to get married?"

"Of course! The only problem is, well, I don't know who to! But hey, I have some time to think!"

She shrugged, and she glanced at the clock. "Maybe you'll meet someone at school, and it's getting late, isn't it?" she said, hinting that Amanda should get going home soon.
