Amanda's New Apartment

"...Were you able to get a job?" Pinkie jumped up on Olivia's lap, and meowed.

"Nah. Don't need one." Olivia grimaced. "I knew my dad would be too much of a pansy to cut me off."

Amanda didn't say anything for a minute. "Oh... Well... What have you been doing besides sleeping?"

She thought for a moment. "Nothing else, really... Oh, wait, I called a friend of mine back in Amsterdam earlier."

"Oh, fun. What'd they have to say?"

"Don't remember," she said quickly, focusing back on the TV set.

"Liv, is something wrong?"

"No!" She sounded somewhat offended. "What would make you think that?"

"You just looked a little weird for a sec there. Sorry..."

"Where's the remote?"

"You were the one with it last. I just got home!" Amanda said, jokingly.

This joke was greeted and sent away with a blank stare. "I think the cat ate it."

"If you want to poke her stomach to turn the TV off..."

"Mrp?"

"Eww, no, I'm not touching it."

"Pet her!"

"No!"

"...Do you have a phobia of cats or something?"

"I just hate 'em. Animals in general, really... Besides Jenny, of course."

"Oh."

Olivia continued to gaze, glassy-eyed, at the television.

"You sure your alright?"

"Just peachy."

"...Olivia. Talk to me."

Olivia shook her head.

"..." Amanda scoocued closer to her friend, speaking softer than before. "I know your won't ever be completely okay, but talking will help."
