"I can do whatever I want! It is my money!" He smiled as if nothing was wrong. "Technically they're my chickens, and this is my house, so I can decide who sleeps where."

Olivia fistpumped. "Yessss."

"Oh!" said Rachel, looking very flustered and offended. "You're so mean! It's OUR money, thank you very much!"

"You aren't going to work and earning it yourself!" He snapped at her. "It pisses me off how you just spend and spend and spend all of the stuff that I work hard for without even considering my opinion! I wanted to get something for myself."

Rachel then reached over and slapped Nick across the face. "You're so rude! I work just as hard as you! I should have married someone like Eric or Max who are actually NICE!" she snapped back.

Nicolas gingerly touched his cheek where Rachel had slapped him. Any other man probably would have named off a couple of girls who he should have married instead, but he just stood there. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, he turned on his heel and stalked up the stairs to the bedroom, calling over his shoulder, "It's a fake, just so you know!"

Rachel got up from her bed, and she made her way over to the door, wear she had a mischievous looking smile on his face. "I knew it was fake all along. You don't have the guts to get a really tattoo. And, do you actually think I'd marry someone like Max?"

"... That was fun." Olivia then settled back into the armrest of the couch and resumed her eye-resting session.

He didn't say anything as he pulled on some T-shirt. He decided not to say anything to the woman who had just bitch-slapped him, said she'd rather marry another man, and said he didn't have the "guts" to get a real tattoo. Women. If only you could slap them and not be labeled abusive, he thought angrily.

"Now..." Rachel reached over to the dresser, where there was a small bouquet of flowers. "I'm going to get some fresh air myself." And she apparated away.

Rachel came home, looking rather timid. "...Nick? I'm really sorry about earlier. If you don't want to forgive me, I can understand why."

Nicolas was sitting in bed, reading about a boy who got some neighborhood kids to whitewash a fence, when Rachel returned. "I don't forgive you, yet."

Rachel sat down beside him, and took a peak at his book. "What are you reading?"

"Something about a country kid... Tom Sawyer. It's weird, we have the same last name."

Rachel laughed. "How funny! Is it good so far?"

"Yeah, it is! You can read it once I'm finished, if you'd like."

"Sure! But, only if you read Heidi." she said, teasing him.

"You want me to read your goat?" he teased right back.

"No, the book silly! It was one of my favorite's growing up, but... eh, you might like it."

"Really, now? What's it about?"

"It's about this little Swiss girl who moves up to the alps with her mean, old grandpa, and she makes him nice again! Isn't that nice?!" she said happily, with a soft look in her eyes.

He smiled softly at her. "Yes, that is nice..."

"Hey Nick?"

"What?"

"I'm pregnant, again. Oh, by the way-how was work?"
