A Small Church in France

"Okay!" Rachel bounced on her heels excitedly. "In Libby's last letter, she said that they're all moved into their new house! I can't wait to see it; I wonder what it's like?"

And so they went back to England, and to Max and Libby's house.

"People are leaving.." Serenity mumbled, holding a glass of wine in both hands, but never drinking it.

Rachel had left Serenity a note.

"I'm sorry... I think I'm having morning sickness. Even though it's not morning, but you know.

-Rachel"

Of course she didn't really, but she had to make up some legitimate excuse.

Serenity smiled as she read the note, thinking of how many children Rachel already had, and if she was pregnant.. again. "Hey, Elroy?"

Elroy looked over at Serenity. He took his mask off. "Yes?"

"I'm just wondering, why are you wearing that mask?"

"Found it."

"The last time you wore that, my mom died." Serenity said, crossing her arms.

Beat.

"Oh."

"Yeah.." Serenity went off to talk to the best man, as was usually encouraged at weddings. "Hi, I'm Serenity. You work with Elroy?" She said, smiling at him. After all, he was Elroy's friend.

Robert was in the middle of a fine robot to whatever song that was. "Yeah!" he shouted. "We're desk buddies!"

"That's great! You must be really close. Has he said anything about me?"

"Not much! Sometimes he'll give you a mention!"

"Really?" Serenity walked up closer to him so she wouldn't have to scream. "So, are you married? Have kids?"

He shook his head. "That's not for me! I am a FREEEEEE BIIIRD!" He switched from roboting to some sort of weird jitterbug.

"So you don't even have a girlfriend? That's a shame. I'm sure you would take a lesson from Elroy. He was rebellious, and stuff.. And now he's married!"

"I've got a few I pal around with sometimes, aside from that, nope!"

[chatbox, u ho]

"I don't believe in palling around! I used to be a prostitute, and I know from experience that it's morally wrong to "pal around" with people! It gets people MURDERED!" She shouted.

"You know, you're not supposed to wear white if you've already done it!"

"This is ivory!" Serenity said. "Ivory isn't white."

"Hell's ivory!?"

"It's ivory! Shiny, off-white-ish! It's not white!" Serenity crossed her arms. "ANYWAYS!"

"Anyways!?"

"Anyways. What has Elroy said about me?"

"Something about lasagna!" Robert continued to shout, in spite of the two now being close enough to hear one another normally. "And that you're horrible at cowgirl!"
