Max, on the other hand didn't take the matter quite so casually. "What are you doing here?!" he exclaimed. "I thought you were... were..." he didn't say anything more, but ran over to him, and collapsed into a hug. <3

AND SO THEY HAD MANLY HUG TIME YAY.

Nicolas, returning the manly hug, said, "It was terrible... but someone came to the ministry and helped us all escape! So, well, I ended up here. Your mother was nice enough to let me stay."

"I'm just glad you're alive here! I kept thinking you'd be an empty shell at the Ministry..." he stared at him carefully. "It's like you're a dream."

Nicolas shook his head. "I WAS a bit of an 'empty shell' for a while... but I'm free now!"

"Well, things haven't been going to well at Hogwarts, either." And Max went onto explain about the new regimen and how punishments worked and how cruel the new teachers and Professor Snape were...

"...But inspite of all that, I HAVE been enjoying myself. I have this great girlfriend and everything."

"Oh yeah, huh? Are you and Libby still together, or is it someone else?" Nicolas smiled at him. Considering his situation with Rachel, despite outward appearances of innocent shota-ness, he knew quite a bit about girls.

"Um errr... both." he said. "But this other girl! She's so much more nicer and intelligent then Libby! She's going somewhere someday. And," he lowered his voice. "She's so much prettier too then Libby."

Nicolas knitted his eyebrows together in confusion. "But, how can you be dating both? You at least ended your relationship with Libby first, right?"

"Err, yeah. I have. But I like the relationship I have with Gabrielle-that's her name so much more then mine with Libby's."

"Well, that's good then! I wouldn't leave Rachel though... our relationship is special." He hoped Max wouldn't ask any questions about that--he hadn't told him about that one night in the closet yet.

Max laughed. "Yeah, sure. Whatever. It's probably no special then mine. What did you do?Share bodies with each other?" he said mockingly.

"I'll have you know that we..." and thus he went into gruesome detail of what happened, just to freak Max out. But he said it in a low voice in case his mother happened to walk by.

Nick's storytelling had done it's job. Max did long completely and utterly horrified. "Nick that's..." he searched for the right word to use. "DISGUSTING. I never knew that you were like that... why didn't you tell me earlier?!"

"You never asked for me to tell you!"

"Well you've never hinted any of that kind of stuff to me before!"

"Well you've never hinted it to me. For all I know, you could have done the same thing."

"Well, just to establish it now, I never did." he rolled his eyes. "Seriously, of all people, YOU."

Nicolas grinned. "Yes, me! Why would you say it that way?"

"Because, err, well, look at you. You're Nick!"

"What does being Nick have to do with anything?!"

"You're just... so... uh, I can't think of the right word for it."

"So awesome? Max, if you remember--I had my first kiss before you did, my first girlfriend, and I'm not a virgin! You're just jealous that I'm better with the ladies, aren't you?"

Max looked completely fumed, and he tried to whole back his anger. "Ohhhh..." Max didn't say anything more, but instead walked over to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich.
