First Day Back: Breakfast. 8D

Rachel looked up from her breakfast. It's okay to ignore some people such as random people ranting at you, but it's not smart to ignore your headmaster. So, she looked up at him, and tried her best to look like she was politely listening to him.

Once the Great Hall fell silent, he continued.

"Eternal glory... that is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Cup... but to do this, the student must survive three tasks... three extremely dangerous tasks..."

Kelsi listened, waiting for more info. What in the name of Kami was he talking about?

Dumbledore tapped the top of the elaborate column on stage. It folded on itself. There stood an old-looking goblet thing. A blue flame rose out of it.

"The Goblet of Fire!" Dumbledore waved his hand toward it for emphasis. "Anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament need only write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly! If chosen, there's no turning back. As from this moment, The Triwizard Tournament has begun!" And with that, he resumed his seat.

Then, some guy from the Ministry stood up. "Attention. Students under 17 are not allowed to submit their names." And he sat down again. Some people booed.

Drew smiled. He had just turned seventeen a couple weeks ago.

Kelsi was one of them.
"BOO!" she yelled in anger.
"WHY CAN'T WE DO IT?!"

Rachel had ended up dosing off, and she was pretty much oblivious to what was going on at this point.

After professor was done talking, Drew wrote his name and school on a piece of paper, went up to the goblet, and dropped it in.

"Because they're three very dangerous tasks?" Libby told Kelsi. "And it might require more experience than people under seventeen have?"

"That's like, not fair, though."

"Zzz...." Rachel had actually dozed off now, or even sleeping, for her head landed right into her breakfast.

Liv hadn't removed her eyes from the pudding the entire time he was talking.

Serenity came into the great hall, took one look at the goblet, and started walking up to it. "Is that like, some giant drink?"

She reached the age line and got thrown back into the Ravenclaw Table.
"Apparently not." Serenity stood up, brushing a tray of eggs off her shoulder, and went over to Kelsi and Livvie. "What's up?"
