Livi had gotten sidetracked and was sitting on a stair, waiting for Lin. She was near the hallway with the closet.

Lin appeared. "Sorry that took so long, let's go party!"

She glared up at her again. "Noooooo.... he's theeeeere..."

"I could get Cho away from him and you could get a word with him and what not? And I heard there's orange pudding!"

"NO. NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO."

"Well want to have a party of our own? Hang in the shadows and party at the gates?"

"... Feh ... I can't believe this..."

Lin sat down, her large dress getting in the way but still she sat.

"This is probably the only dance I'll EVER go to, and I'm out here sitting on the stairs." She was choking up a bit. "My expectations were too high or something..."

Kard Elddir slid down the banister, wearing a tuxedo and smiling, jumping off at the bottom and bowing to Olivia. "May I escort you into this party, Miss?" He asked, holding out a hand.

She looked at him for a moment, then sighed. "And I guess this is what I'm stuck with. Farewell, Lin." She took his hand and pulled herself up.

Lin closed her eyes. "Hope may be given up and so may expectations at a time. But in all this is always a light. A dim light that lights the right way. It will always be surviving even't in the most horrid of times and keep the path going. But only you can put it out. So go up to Oliver and make the flame a fire, or simply put it out. Either way the flame glowed for you and you made your own choice. Or stick with him of course." Lin then moved off to go talk with other friends at the ball.

Krad frowned. "You don't like me, do you," he observed aptly. "I'm not gorgeous or popular."

"Well... um... You're a bit... stalker-ish... is all..."

"So if I left you alone and gave you gifts only ONCE a week, could you like me?" He looked so hopeful, eyes wide, lips pouting.

"Maybe not even that often... The thing is, you seem really... not... real..."

"Fake? Fake? Rude, Livi, totally rude. Give me a chance, please, I'm begging you! I've had the worst luck, since I fell out of a skyscraper when I was little, I've gotten ran over by cars, gotten food poisoning, please, just five me one moment of good luck. Please." Krad looked up, looking about to cry.

"Well, uh... that explains a lot... uh... Let's go."

"Thank you," He said, with a huge smile. "Let's go." Krad led Olivia into the room, looking happier then he'd ever been.
