Charlie pulled Serenity into the room and closed the door, still smiling. "It's the most awesome thing ever!!"

"Wonderful! Now, seriously, I don't wanna be a bore, but I have an essay and I need to paint my nails. What is it?" Serenity had brought out a bottle of silver nail polish, and was indeed painting her nails while she was talking.

He clasped his hands together. "Are you really going to rape Angel?" he exclaimed.

"Of course, I've already got a plan." Sort of.. "I just need to go buy some handcuffs."

"Handcuffs..." He laughed, his hands dropping again. "You really think you'd need 'em?"

"I don't think Angel's quite thrilled at my idea for the entire thing, but he's polite, even so, I'm determined, and it's a precaution. Which reminds me, I'll need some rope too..."

"Serenity?"

"What?" Serenity started painting her other hand.

He walked over and knelt in front of her...

Then he knocked the bottle of nail polish over, still smiling.

"Hey! That's my favorite nail polish!" Serenity went to pick it up, but the bottle was broken and silver nail polish was leaking, staining the floor. She glared at him accusingly, teeth gritted and eyes little dark slits. "You broke it!"

He kept smiling. "Why Angel?" he said, still sounding completely calm.

"Because I like him! What's your problem!"

"Why do you like him? ^_^"

"I'm sorry-- I love him, Charlie, and that's the end of it. Why are you so curious?"

"I'm just wondering why you like him. I -- ... umm, this is a bit embarrassing... I used to like him, until I realized... I had no reason to... he... was... only a pretty face... you know...?" He opened his eyes, not losing the same smile.

Serenity, openly furious, smacked him. "Angel is not just a pretty face, as you put it, you stupid disgusting excuse for a being, he's sweet and kind and intelligent, and always good to people, and he always tells the truth and hides nothing and he's not perverted or evil, and you just shut up about my boyfriend!"

He turned his head back toward her, his smile weakening. "Really, Serenity?"

"YES! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!" Teeth bared, literally about to swipe at him, Serenity stepped forward, a silent threat.

He stood, not stepping back. "Have you ever really... talked...?"

"Many. Many times. Charlie, I've known him since I was seven years old. Now, I told you to shut up." Serenity punched him as hard as she could, right in the chest.

He had the wind knocked out of him. "You're stronger than," he gasped. "You look."

"Listen. If you go around screwing with peoples' feelings, you'll regret it. Understand?!" Serenity, using the space of the room to her advantage, stepped back a foot or two, looking scared of a retaliation.

"What did he ever say to you, I wonder, to make you love him so much... Wouldn't think Anj was a charmer... Bye, Serenity." He had been backing away while talking. Smiling still, he opened the door and left.

Serenity, gritting her teeth for one last chance at getting her point through, ran after him.
And raised one leg..
and kicked him full on in the back.

A shame that he had only opened the door enough for him to slip out. So, she kicked the door shut.
