Stone Bridge

Kelsi and Amanda were shaded by the bridge's top cover, so their umbrella was closed. Kelsi sighed.
"Second time in the rain. Jeez, it's a nightmare, eh?"

"Heh. It's so grey but the rain feels so good. ^^"

"S-sort of. . . It's cold." Kelsi said and tightened her sweater around her.

"If you want to head in we can?" Amanda got the face. "Or we could go party it up in the fourthies Boathouse?"

"Nah, it's their traditional marking-spot. I don't know what they do in there. Otherwise. . . let's stay here, I'll heat up."

"Kay." Amanda watched the rain splash into the water below the bridge. She mumbled, "I wonder if it's the bridge of questions?..."

"What?" Kelsi looked up at Amanda confusedly.

Amanda shrugged, "Even after Livi shook out most of the addiction of anime, I still love it..." Cutting to the chase Amanda just said, "It's from an episode of Princess Tutu."

"Which is an anime. I see. Ah, well. . . it'll fade. Right?"

"I guess so."

"Hey, Mandy? What's it like to kiss a boy?"

Karin wandered over to the Stone Bridge, not caring about the fact that it was pouring rain, and rested her head on one of the sides of the bridge, and began to sob slightly.

"Not sure. Only kissed a robot."

"Hmm. . ." she eyed Karin for a moment. But being stupid and never wanting to get involved with stuff like this, she continued chatting with Amanda.

Eric, whom out of guilt had followed her out here leaned against the bridge next to Karin.
"You alright?" he asked, staring out into the clouds.

"No," she said simply. "But, don't worry about me. Go back to your friends."

"Soo... I'm thinking of writing a short story or novel."

"Why should I let you like this? You didn't leave me back in second year," he replied simply.

"About what?" Kelsi asked eagerly.

"That's because you needed and deserved to have help. I don't. I'm just a selfish whore."

"Two teenagers, probably 16 or 15. The two are from the same school and it is the summer break. The girl thinks of the boy as a jerky girl chaser. One day they embark on some sort of adventure to save some sort of thing, and in the end realize their true feelings towards one another at the end."

"Oh, it sounds really good. When you start it, I'm gonna have to read it, okay?"


"Well, that's what YOU think. Look, Karin, I understand that you might think that. But, I think it's mostly just because of love that you're doing this, and because you felt like you needed more worthy friends. You're right, we're all totally different and weird in our own way, but if you got yourself here, it doesn't mean it was for no reason. As for Antonio. At first I think you were just doing it for revenge- but it got in on you. Karin, this whole time you were just lonely and furious, which is why I think you should try to forget it all. Because, who knows- life changes, times will shift, before you know it- you might end up in a white dress becoming a DiGandi." He took a deep breath.

"So, for now- could you just forget this whole mess and come with us? Everybody deserves a second chance."

"You'll have to!"

Libby, out of nowhere, jumped onto Mandy's back like she was getting a piggy-back ride. "OH HI."

Karin stared at Eric for a few minutes and than finally she said: "Thank you for saying that. Thank you for being my best friend. But, for right now, at this moment, I need a little time alone to think things over." She gave him a little hug, and she crossed the bridge, humming a little tune.

"WHAT THE-- LIBBY??"

Eric shrugged. At least she was in a better mood.
