"I don't want to leave either. There's only two years left..."

"Amanda," Rachel looked at her seriously. "We're not little kids anymore. In about two years or so, we're going to be ADULTS. This is time when we seriously need to begin consider where we're going to be in two or three years NOW."

Amanda shrugged. "I won't seal my fate till after NEWT."

Kelsi nodded slowly. "I'm sorry for siding against you, Amanda, but... it's time to stop worrying about simple things, and start worrying about major things. Screw looks, and boys. You've got to start wondering what you want. Amanda, it's time to grow up."

"Guys, I think you've been listening to too much of everything happening in the outside world. We really are STILL kids. Screw everything till seventh year! We can't choose jobs without NEWT, we can't choose husbands without expierience, and we can't have kids without a husband! Everything will fall into place on it's own! I just have to wait until I nudge it to stary!"

"Can't have kids without a husband? Manda, you're so childish, I love it." Olivia patted Amanda on the shoulder.

"Let me restate that- you can't choose how many you want, or names, or anything, without a husband - unless you become someone who has a nameless father to your kids, or divorce when they're super young."

"Sure you can."

"OKAY. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN."

Olivia laughed.

Amanda also laughed.

As did Kelsi. But she still totally disagreed with what Amanda said.

Robin, on the other hand, was once again staring out of the window.

It was a happy moment.

"I agree with Rachel, Amanda. You're being so stupid. Everything's going to change- for the better or the worse. It doesn't matter if it's for the worse or the better, if someone comes out of school doing badly, it might not even be their fault. But if you're not prepared at all, like you are, you'll be stuck the way you are forever, a stupid idiot in a grown-up world. You fit in now with the expectations- but what happens when things get harder? Your wish is still going to be the same. You just don't get it!"

Amanda held her head wearily, then slowly said,

"I just said I'm not making any plans till I'm seventh year. I'll have my NEWT scores, and everything will be easier to choose. I'm not stupid either, I have perfectly good knowledge that can be used in any flippin work place. You can't force me to choose my life right now so just deal with it until I'm ready, because unlike some people, I'm not choosing my weeding dress for a boy who doesn't even notice me!"

Kelsi shook her head. "No, that's the think. Seventh year will be to late. You need experience beforehand, jobs come RIGHT after. OWLs decide where you fit best. They're more important that NEWTS, Amanda, NEWTS are just final tests for school. Amanda, if you keep waiting, it's going to explode in your face. Grow up already..."

Rachel put a hand on Serenity's hand, and whispered in her ear. "Maybe that's a little TOO harsh. You know she's still trying to understand..."

Amanda glared at Kelsi, "Well if any of you had talked to me before I was almost killed by Death Eaters while you all owl amoungst yourselves, I had a summer job."

Kelsi shrugged. "That's good. Hey, the train's slowing."

"Great." Amanda said, bitterness dripping from the last T in her word.

"Good," said Rachel standing back up again as the train came to a stop. She then ran out of the compartment while saying "I'm going to go get a good carriage!" And she left.

Amanda made sure Pinkie went back into her carrier, than waved to everyone and trudged out of the compartment.

Serenity rushed after Rachel, carrying her trunk. "Waiit for me!"

Kelsi followed after them all, passing by tiny first-years. She blinked a few times. "Was I really that small?"
