Common Room

Serenity sat around.

Rachel was sitting in the Common Room, sitting in a light blue chair at a wood-carved desk. But something was different. She was sitting there and just relaxing. Instead, she was up to her ears with books, parchment, and ink.

Currently, she was bent over a star chart for Astronomy.

"Map out Jupiter's moons? But there's a ton!" she thought to herself, as she chewed on her quill leaving tiny bite marks. But with a sigh, she uncorked a bottle of blue ink, and flipped open to the pages of Jupiter's moons in her Astronomy book and began to map out their positions in the night sky.

Serenity came down, wearing her pajamas, hair down. It had grown out to her waist. She slid down the banister and, once she landed, she walked over to Rachel's chair. "Oh, still working on Astronomy? I did that last night, but put off potions."

"I'm not taking Potions, thankfully..." she muttered, looking very focused on mapping out Callisto's position in the night sky. "I hate looking at dead things floating around in jars."

"It's a bit creepy, but it's sort of like cooking, you know. Slughorn's really nice, Rach. I don't like staying up that late, and stars are really confusing- so I didn't take Astronomy. I dropped Care of Magical Creatures this year, thank God."

"There, all done with Callisto-now for the Europea-oh yeah, sorry! Was Care of Magical Creatures really was bad as everyone said it was. I never took it. Ancient Runes was so hard though!"

"Eruggh. All those freaky animals.. I'll pass. You might have enjoyed it, though. Well, go ahead with your homework, I'm going to go take a shower." Serenity went off.

Kelsi had it all confused. The OTHERS went home, but not Robin. She didn't want to. And so, she sat there, looking totally bored, not even bothering pulling out her homework. She hated school.

Rachel looked over at Robin and smiled a little at her. "Hey Robin, do you need some help with your school work?"

"What? Oh, no. I'll do it all later. Here, sit." She moved over to leave some space for Rachel.

"Thank you," and she sat down beside Robin.

Robin sighed. "Life is so boring, don't you think?"

"Well, at this school anyway! It seems like so much action is going elsewhere in the world though!" admitted Rachel.

Meanwhile, while all this drama was going on, Rachel was up in the Ravenclaw Common Room with a Divination book opened up and propped right in front of her, as she tried to interpret different smoke designs on a worksheet.

Serenity was chilling in a chair across from Rachel- unlike some people, she had a strict balance between work and play. And no matter what, her playtime was not to be interrupted by schoolwork. So she was just grinning at Rachel's predicament of homework.

"I can feel you looking at me," said Rachel, without looking up from her piece of parchment.

"Haha, more like you know me well enough to know that I tend to stare at people when I'm bored." Serenity went over to her. "What'cha working on?"

"Divination homework. Be glad you aren't taking that class. It's terrible!" she said, as she began to classify the meaning of a bird in the smoke.

"Ugh, I've heard. The teacher's a nutto, isn't she?"

"Yes! You wouldn't BELIEVE her! Always predicting omens and stuff that will never come true... she's absolutely mad!"

"Sucks for youuu~ I dropped out of those stupid extra classes as soon as I could!"

"Some of them are interesting, I guess-Ancient Runes was anyway. I just didn't pass the course so I couldn't take it again."

"I didn't like any of them. Not my thing, really."

Serenity, a sum of minutes later, was spinning around the common room in a light blue sundress, singing loudly, hair swinging. "YOU CAN LEARN A LOT OF THINGS FROM THE FLOWERS! ESPECIALLY IN THE MONTH OF JUNE! THERE'S A WEALTH OF HAPPINESS AND ROMANCE! AAAAAAALL! IN THE GOLDEN AFTERNOOOON!"

"Serenity..." said Rachel quietly, her voice shaking quietly, and her eyes huge with fear. "Di-did you know that there are Death Eaters in the schools?" she said, her voice lowering to a whisper with each word.
