A section of the lake

"You're on. GO!" She sped off before Amanda could get up. The shadow of the squid passed by below them.

Amanda started up behind Liv, catching speed and was soon right behind.

Olivia heard the skritching of Amanda's skates behind her, and tried to skate faster, leaning forward a bit more.

Amanda threw her secret weapon, a pebble that got caught in her glove when she fell, a Olivia's skates, continuing at her pace.

It had no effect.

Amanda cursed in her head as she leaned forward, gradually picking up speed.

"There's less of me! Less air resistance! Hahaha!" Olivia stayed ahead.

A loud crack sounded a second later, a large patch of ice behind the two friends fell in. "LIV!"

"OH DAMN!" Praying that it wouldn't crack any further, Olivia kept skating, unable to go any faster.

Amanda was going faster than before, her eye wide with fear.

Olivia, who had gotten a bit further ahead, crashed into the snow bank on the other side.

Amanda got to the other side just before their entire path fell through.

Olivia rolled over and stared at the hole in the lake. "... Wow."

"LEt's get outta here..."

She nodded and got up.

The shadow of the squid appeared.

Wide eyed, Amanda grabbed Olivia's arm and ran like there was no tomorrow back to the path.

And Olivia was dragged.

They were half way down the path when Amanda had let go and stopped.

She regained her footing. "What?

"You can walk."

"I know."

"So do so."

"Don't wanna."

Amanda grabbed her arm. "I'm cold, wet, and tired. TO THE COMMON ROOM!" And Amanda dashed. To Hufflepuff common room.

Without any choice, Olivia went with her.
