The Ministry Of Magic-A Back Room

"Get in there!" barked a Death Eater, giving her a little kick to get her inside.

"OH. OH. You did not just kick me!" Laura said, getting in and facing the Death Eater. Thin line between bravery and stupidity.

"Listen. You DON'T want to cross us. Get in there!" And with one final push, he managed to get Lin inside and he shut the door.

Laura sighed, adjusting her eyes to the darkness. "Those Death Eaters are so dumb... I still have my wand."

Nicolas looked over at the commotion, but stayed rooted to the spot. He turned and looked at Robin as if to ask, "Should we go over there?"

Laura waved the wand in front of her face, trying to see it.

[[Amanda, do you seriously think they'd let her in with a wand?]]

[D8 Well now I have to show you the grand stupidty plan.]

Laura smiled, thinking how she picked her wand up as she waddled ran away from the Death Eaters. She was running through the forest near her house and she saw it. "Lumos!" She whispered happily, and waited a few moments.

Her wand wouldn't work.

Laura didn't think WHY her wand would be in the woods in the first place...

It wasn't a wand. It was a twig.

A few weeks later... after all the Muggle-borns had been sitting in there, practically rotting and withering away...

A Death Eater came in, letting in light in the room for the first time in weeks. "Listen-" he said gruffly. "The Head of the Muggle-born Registration is going to begin the questioning. We're going to take you out, and sort you for the Questioning. After that, we have some things for you to fill out." And he disappeared.

Robin, who at that moment had been pressed against the floor of another room which was less crowded, closed her eyes. They said the same thing last week. But they ignored this room, and went on with the other room. She still felt her heart lighten up, hopefully she could somehow convince them that she could get out of here. She was tired of the bad sleeping positions she's had to lead to, and the bad food.

Laura stared at the light coming from the door, a new thing to this dark hole.

"Everyone under the age of thirty-five, get up, and come with me. We have some questions for you." he grunted.

Nicolas, who had been sitting over in a corner by himself, but relatively close to Robin, stood up. He haphazardly brushed off his shorts, which he had been wearing for a while and had started to get a bit dirty. He walked over to Robin. "I think that means us," he mumbled. "C'mon. Let's go."

Robin stood up and looked around her. A few people stood up, but most stayed behind.

A woman spoke up. "Do kids count too?"

"Yes, they do." he grunted again. "Hurry up."

A few children didn't want to leave, but the parents insisted; "You'll come back, don't worry!"

Robin followed Nicolas out after the man. "I'm so relieved that we might be able to leave... At least we're staying somewhere other than in there..."

"But, they're interrogating us. Didn't you hear? 'We have some questions for you.'" Nicolas sighed. "What if we have to go into court, or something? And we all look terrible like this?"

"Well, then we'll have to impress them. We have to show them that we're worthy, and we're not bad, right?"

A Death Eater gave Robin a little push from the back. "Hurry up now. We have no time for Mudbloods like you." he grunted.

Robin twitched a bit. She glanced at Nicole, with a look of defeat. A look that said, "I guess I was wrong?"

Robin looked the other way, and began glaring angrily at the guard in front of them.

When they entered the room, a Death Eater made an announcement. "Everyone, sit down here. We have a questionnaire for you to fill out. It just talks about your name age, occupation... things like that. When that's done, line up, and we'll take your picture for identification. When that's all done, we'll take you back." he glared at the crowd. "It won't be to hard for you half-wits."

Nicolas took a questionnaire, mumbling "We're not half-wits," as he did so. He started marking off the answers on the questionnaire.
