Welcoming Feast

GOTTA GET BACK TO HOGWARTS

Rachel sat down at her usual spot in the Ravenclaw table, and surveyed the Great Hall. Everything SEEMED the same, but it didn't seem as nearly as welcoming or warm.

Kelsi entered the hall and looked around, finally sitting at the Hufflepuff table.

Serenity plopped down next to Rachel, staring at the plates. Nothing was scary when you were starving.

"You're hungry."

Olivia sauntered over to an empty spot at the Slytherin table, first checking to see if the pudding bowl was in its proper position.

"You could tell?" Serenity asked, barely looking up from the plate.

There was the bowl, there as usual.

And seeing that the bowl was placed accordingly, she took the seat.

Serenity kept staring at the plate.

Amanda stepped in a shivered, the feel in the Great Hall was anything but welcoming. She quietly found a seat beside Kelsi.

Kelsi leaned in. "You weren't in the carriage on the way here." she whispered. She took out a piece of paper, and wrote, "I'm Kelsi." in her small, neat scrawl.

Amanda mouthed back to her, "I was at Lib's when you were disguising yourself."

"Fuck, I knew that." Kelsi said outloud, and facepalmed.

Suddenly, the first years entered. And... there weren't that many. In fact, there were only five.

Snape stood up. There was no stool- no hat. He just walked up to them, and pointed at one. "You, go to that table. What's your blood?" he asked to another kid. That one looked up. "H-half-" Snape cut him midsentence. "That one." Eventually, they were all sitting at different tables according to their blood. He then did a frightening speech. (can't type it, goinng to school.)

Serenity stared at him, appetite dwindling. "What..?" She whispered to Rachel, eyes large.

He stood at the podium and looked at them all with a snide smirk. "As you can see, I am now the Headmaster. And thus, I have set some new rules. There will be no more houses. It's all based on blood and family lines. And from now on, it will stay this way. Another warning- if any of you are against this new arrangement, along with a few selected others, you're more than welcome to go talk to Mr. Filch about it- I'm sure you two could find some ways to solve your suggestions." He paused, turning to Mr. Filch, who was crouching over with wheezy laughs. "Also. We have some new additions to the school- teachers and subjects. Meet Professor Alecto and Amycus. Both will be teaching the Dark Arts. There will be no need of defense anymore. And..." he sighed, and his dark smile faded slowly. "Here is a warning for all those who disagree with these new changes. Along with these new changes, there will be new consequences. Enjoy." He turned around to return to his table, and the food appeared.

There was no orange pudding in the bowl. There was green pudding, though.

Olivia stared discontentedly at the bowl of green pudding. "What is this..." she murmured, looking back at the podium.

Serenity took a bowl of mashed potatoes and heaved them onto her plate, leaving only a little left in the bowl, and stared at them discontentedly.
