Flat in Hogsmeade

"Oh.. I got a job!"

"You did?! What is it?" Selia asked, smiling.

"I clean the streets! With a broom..."

"That's.. That's great. Why don't we go tell your parents now?"

"But, Selia. I'm going to have my own BROOM. I'll be able to sweep the streets and dance around with the broom and such. It'll be so fun."

"I appreciate you've found something you'll like doing. I personally don't get any joy from sweeping. Whatever floats your boat, though."

"You okay? You seem sad. You regretting this?"

"No! Not at all! I just could have sued people for sexual harassment over four times today. And it's hard work, working at that shop. It's so busy.."

"What?!" Jake yelled. "Who tried raping you!?"

"Chill. Nobody touched me, it was just the comments. It is a candy store, that's bound to stir comments. But you'd think people would act better around the children shopping there."

Ahh. Well, let's get going!" And so they left for his house.

And they left.

Selia got back into the apartment, right as the doorbell rang. She checked her hair, and opened the door. Of course, it was her cousin, Marie Rosensteel. "Hi Marie! How are yo...u." Selia had been distracted. She had been looking at her cousin from the shoes up, and had stopped at the chest. She stood there, with her mouth open, before smiling and making eye contact.
"'Ello, Selia! It is so nice to see you here in quaint little Britain!"
"Yeah! Wait, quaint?"
"Oh, of course, you think this country ees the best. But, France is beautiful this time of year. You should visit me, non?"
"I don't have time. Anyways, Jake should be off work soon, and you can meet him. For tonight you can stay on the couch.."

Indeed, Jake came home. He totally ignored Marie, and went to Selia. "Guess what! These kids came out of nowhere and started trying out my broom, and it was so cool." He grinned mellowly.

"Really? That's so great, Jake! I went to visit Rachel today, she had a baby, it's a girl, her name is Sophia. It's such a beautiful baby.."
Marie coughed.
"Oh, right. This is my cousin Marie. Marie, Jake."

"Hey, Marie!" he said with a casual wave. But then he felt awkward. Because she.. well yeah. "Hey, Selia, can we talk for a moment?" he said uncomfortably.

"Um.. Okay then." Selia said, looking worried. She walked into the bedroom, holding her stomach.
Maybe he met another girl. Maybe he's gay. Maybe he's going to run off with a gay guy and get married and adopt lots of kids.. Or maybe it's because of Marie. I bet that's it. He finally notices my boobs aren't as big as other people's and he's going to run off with her and stick his face in her boobs every day and--
"THAT'S IT, ISN'T IT, JAKE!? YOU'RE JUST GOING TO BREAK UP WITH ME BECAUSE OF SOMEBODY YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW?! JUST BECAUSE HER BOOBS ARE BIGGER THAN MINE?! THAT'S NOT FAIR! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE AN INTEREST IN ME SEXUALLY AND AS SOON AS SHE WALKS IN, YOU JUST WANT TO RUN OFF WITH HER, DON'T YOU? WELL I CAN'T HELP IT!" Selia screamed at him, as soon as she had shut the door.

Jake stared at her. "Whoah whoah whoah- calm down, Sel! I'd never want to go out with her. You're disgusting! I only like you. I just wanted to talk to you because- well..." he breathed in. "I'm scared about this all. And I don't think the jobs are going to cut it. We're too young for this, in my opinion."

"You are? Me too." Selia said, quickly cutting herself off and being quiet. She was supposed to be ready for anything, after all, that's what the whole dropping out of school was for.

"And... I don't think we should quit school. Wh- what do you think of this?" he asked quietly, going off to sit on the bed.

"I agree completely. I mean... I guess we're still kids. This clearly wasn't going to work out from the beginning. I'm so sorry I even suggested it... I think we should go back to school once it's all fixed. For our own benefits. We can still date in school. We'll see Holly and Eric. And if we want to after school, we can buy an apartment and live together again, if you want to."

"If we're ready. Even then, I feel we're too young."

"Yeah. We just rushed into things. We need to slow things down." Selia smiled.

"Yeah! So, let's sell this apartment- You get all the money. Because we got it with your stuff. I don't care, really!"

"Are you sure? Well... Alright." She went and sat down on the bed next to Jake. "I really like you. And living together was fun. The first Hogsmeade weekend.. Go with me, won't you?" Selia asked, leaning over and kissing him.
