Flat in Hogsmeade

"I will! Don't wo--" But his words were cut when she began to kiss him.

And Selia just kept kissing him.
Suddenly, there was that petite little cough again, and Marie was standing in the door, looking annoyed. "Eet is about time you two stopped with ze kissing and started with ze making my snack!" She said in a snotty little voice. Selia ignored her completely.

Jake stood up, carefully pushing Selia away and walked up to Marie, with a smile. "Hey, we're kind of busy. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to leave, we have business to take care of."

Selia smirked and hugged her knees.

Marie looked offended. "Why, in France, we would never dream of turning out ze guest! It is your responsibility to take care of me! Not make out with your girlfriend!" Her accent was getting rather annoying, and she stormed off in anger.

"Were you serious about the business, or were you just getting rid of her?"

"Both. We've got to sell this apartment and the furniture. But... can I keep my broom, please?"

"Yes! Yes, of course. Keep anything you want. I don't care. I'm going to keep my blender." Selia laid down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. "So.. What do you think's worth the most money?"

"The apartment itself?"

"Well.. Besides that."

"The bed! And the table."

"Wrong! I bought the stuff, remember, so I should know. Keep guessing, this is fun."

"Umm... the chairs?"

"Wrong! It was actually my kitchen supplies.." Selia laughed.

"You spent the most money in KITCHEN SUPPLIES?!"

"Yeah... They were necessary. I mean, there were just so many, and I went sort of berserk.."

"Ugh, Selia! You know, imagine if we had stayed this way! We'd have lost over 700 dollars just because you had to buy high-priced kitchen supplies!"

"Well at least I have aspirations! I need those cooking supplies for my dreams. My career choices. You don't want to do anything! You were going to sweep streets, for God's sake! Let's face it- I'm ready for life. You're not."

"Hey, all the other jobs were taken! Look, let's just forget this, and sell this apartment. I'll have to tell my parents."

"Fine. Whatever. All I'm saying, is you've been totally worthless the whole time. You can't support anything. We would've gone bankrupt." Selia said, then stormed off into the kitchen.

"WHAT?!" Jake yelled, slamming his hands on the table. "I helped a lot! I helped with the budget, and the money!"

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE TABLE, THEY'RE GOING TO SMUDGE THE GLASS. We won't be able to sell it if you do. Why do you never think about the big picture?!" Selia started getting the flour out, and was whisking it in with all the ingredients out on the counter.

"Okay. Why are you cooking now? And we've been eating on this table for how long now. A month? A bit less?"

"I don't know why I'm cooking. You're frustrating me, maybe that's why! I need an outlet for my anger, Jake."

"Oh, come on, how am I frustrating you?!" Jake's never felt this annoyed. Why did he feel like this? Was it something that came along with settling down with a woman? Thank God they changed their mind. "You know what, thank God we're not living together anymore!" Jake said, repeating what had just run through his head.

Selia stared at him, open-mouthed. She felt like crying. Or hitting Jake. She chose the second of the two, but instead of just hitting him, she threw an egg at him. "Why are you so mean!?" She screamed.

"Because you're being mean! You're technically saying I'm worthless!" He wiped the egg off his shoulder, pieces and slime falling onto the table and his feet.
