He faltered for a moment in scanning the next page, then picked it up just as quick.

"Who?"

"Elroy. I'm getting married to Elroy." Serenity said quietly.

"..."

The nurse chose to intervene at this point. She was carrying a tray of tea. Black. As she turned to leave she leaned down and whispered in Serenity's ear: "Thin ice."

Serenity didn't need the nurse's warning, she knew it would probably provoke a negative reaction. "Angel? You don't have to be happy. Nobody expects you to. If you don't talk, I'll leave."

Angel didn't seem very unhappy about it. In fact, he was smiling.

Serenity seemed worried. She got up off the floor, standing up. "So you're happy, then." It wasn't much of a question.

Then he cracked up laughing.

Once he'd finished with that, he turned to Serenity, still wearing that blank grin, and ordered her to "Get out."

"Well.. Well.. I would just like you to know, you're the failure here! You're a disappointment, and I happen to think that Elroy was the better brother all along. I'm going to get married, and have kids, and be happy FOREVER with him, because you're a crazy psycho bastard!" She turned around and marched out.

[... what a bitch.]

The nurse quickly shut the door behind her. That Rosensteel girl wouldn't be allowed back here any time soon, that was for sure. As for Angel...
