Olivia kept her eyes fixed on the bowl. "Mm-hm?"

"What did you think about that kiss the other day?"

She shrugged, avoiding any eye contact, and took a rather large fork-full of macaroni.

Boris looked away. He looked disappointed. "You didn't like it, did you?"

"N-no! I mean, yes! I mean... It's not that, it's... I did."

Boris nodded slowly. He continued staring at the table. "What does this mean, then?"

Olivia fidgeted slightly. "What do you think?"

"I'm asking you." His hand twitched.

"Well." Olivia set the fork down. "Maybe..." She frowned. "Maybe I'd like to know your opinion, seeing as you're the one who started it and all!"

"... Oh. I liked it. And I hope something more happens," he said.

Olivia felt her pulse pounding in her ears. "Me too..."

Boris felt that too. And his lips tingled. And in his pants it tingled too.

Olivia looked over at the clock, wherever it was. "It's almost three," she said offhandedly.

He looked over, too. "Oh, yeah, it is!"

"Three hours until work..."

[LOTS OF THINGS CAN HAPPEN IN 3 HOURS, OLIVIA. *pointed stare*]

"Hey. It's New Year's Day tomorrow. Skip for the day, we'll go have fun." he said with a smile.

Olivia laughed. "I've skipped quite a bit already."

"Well, I'll skip my work." he said with a wink. "So, you wouldn't mind if I did this?" he said as he slowly took her hand in his.

Wasn't he catholic or something? Oh, whatever. She nodded. "I don't mind at all."

"What if I did more than that? Would you mind?"

Wasn't this against some doctrine of theirs? No, wait, maybe she was jumping to conclusions. "I wouldn't."

He slowly let go of her hand, trailing his up her arm until his hands were holding her shoulders. He then kissed her again.

When the kiss ended, Olivia said something about 2003.

Boris couldn't hear it properly, since there was blood pumping in his head. "Thousand" came out louder than usual, though.
