"I'll tell you when you're sober. Go to bed, you've got a rough day tomorrow." He turned on his feet and walked away.

How odd. Olivia would have normally thought that Boris, of all people, would have kicked her out on the spot. She wasn't thinking this, of course, since her brain was only half-functional at the time. Oh well, whatever. And thus it was tomorrow.

That morning, Boris woke her up early- around seven am. He was dressed up, and was shaking her awake. "C'mon! Get up, we're going to be late!" he said, checking his clock several times. He then rummaged through her closet and tossed some jeans and a t-shirt at her. "Hurry up, I'll meet you downstairs in five minutes."

Needless to say, Olivia was NOT happy about this. Cut his voice box out with a spoon, she would. Nothing to be done, though. So, she complied. "What's this for, exactly?"

He looked at her with a stone hard expression. "You'll see. My surprise. Now hurry up and get changed." He closed the door then, and went down the stairs to wait for her.

Complied as in got dressed and went downstairs. She looked about as pleased as a cat that fell in a full bathtub.

"Alright. Now that you're ready, I'll tell you where we're going." And so, he lead her to his fireplace. "We're going to a poverty recognition meeting. I managed to get us in and I want to show you how useless it is wasting money on what you do when you could be using it for more life-necessary and helpful things. I mean, these people are lacking all essential resources a human needs and you're here getting drunk every night." And so, the two went to the meeting.

Three hours later, they came back.

"Tell you what," said Olivia as they stepped out of the fireplace again. "That third speaker had been smoking something. You could tell by his eyes." Like she'd admit it had actually affected her. Yeah, right.

He crossed his arms. "Is that all you learned? Hah, as if. You learned way more. You were MESMERIZED, I saw you."

"Yes, people overcoming obstacles and blah blah blah. Nothing I haven't heard before."

Boris raised his eyebrows. "At the least, if this didn't bother you, I'm still not letting you out of the house. I don't want you ruining your life."

"Yeah, because you've done a great job of stopping me over the past... day or two?"

Bore scowled. "You know what, Olivia? Fuck you. If you don't like it here, you can just go home. I'm trying my best to help you, but clearly your head's to thick to see that." he obviously looked hurt. And this was a new side of him. He clearly cared a lot for Olivia.

Olivia stared up at him for a few seconds, then said: "Your face is going to get stuck that way. Surprised it hasn't already."

Bore's face softened. "Whatever. What do you want for dinner?"

"Whatever there is."

"So, if there was spoiled yogurt, you'd have some?"

"Beats rats."

Boris sighed. "Whatever. I'll make us rice or something."

Olivia considered all those speeches. Damn, those poor saps had it bad. Didn't even have the guts to leech.

And so, Boris was in the kitchen just preparing the rice. "Crap, I made too much. Maybe I'll just throw some away."

She happened to overhear this. "No, don't," she objected. "We could, uh... save it. Or something."

Boris raised his eyebrows. "You suuure? I don't know... I mean, I really made too much. You know what, I'll just throw it away." And he dumped most of the extra rice into the trash.

"Seriously! Those people were starving, and you're just going to--" Then, something clicked.

Bore continued staring at her. "Really? Is that so? You know, I actually don't want any rice, maybe we'll have couscous instead."
