Amanda threw the fruitcake by the fire, hoping someone would throw it in or eat it. "We could be. Just beautifully drawn inked and colored characters of a master artist's comic book."

"Awww, he went to all that trouble to get it for you and you're throwing it away?" Olivia leaned forward and picked it up again. "Heartless."

Amanda sighed. "It was a wonderful gesture, but I got him the perfect gift, I could tell it in his eyes. But he said his mom helped him."

"Still."

"Am I suppose to put it in my dresser for life?"

"Yes."

Amanda picked it up, and ran upstairs to do so. Then ran back.

"I still have that shit-quality scarf that Ced gave me. It's like, threads now." She was leaning towards the fire, trying to see if there were any other colors in it. "Oughta burn it... it'd probably make a nice display..."

"That's not treating his gift right!

"He's dead, he won't care. I was just some fourth year skankbag anyway."
