Train Compartment Number Five

Holly, once in her compartment, slammed the door behind her and leaned against the window, sniffling.

[[Because we need 400 posts by tomorrow. So.]]

Eric entered. "Why does it bother you so much?" he asked her from the doorway.

[... 48 minutes. =_=]

"Why does what bother me."

Eric shrugged. "Ehh, nevermind." He did his usual smile, only this time it looked a bit sadder, and sat next to Holly. "In my opinion, what he's doing is reckless, going off like that... If anything, in my opinion, he shouldn't just LEAVE, he should wait for you, enjoy it while he can. But... Holly, you've got to remember, the school will be swarming with death eaters! If they catch you and him, I can't imagine what horrible possibilities will happen. Maybe... maybe he's leaving you for now, so that during the year he won't have to see you get hurt- or even killed." Eric made sure not to mention Fry's name once.

Holly pouted, and wiped a few tears out of the corners of her eyes. "Yeah. I guess. But at least he could say that... he was too vague. Maybe that's why I'm u-upset." She leaned her head on Eric's shoulder, sniffling. "But if he were so afraid, he could stay home from school. And we'd have a long-distance r..." she stopped. Then sniffled again. "Well, he wouldn't have broken up with me. It just... hurts."

"I believe this is all going to end. One day. Maybe this year, I bet! Best keep going to school, and not risk wasting a year where you don't graduate, when the next year you'll have missed a year and everything is back to normal. So... I guess he believes the same."

"But still. I really, really care about him, you know? And he's the one breaking up with me. After everything I'm doing for him!"

"What ARE you doing for him?"

"We let him stay at our house this summer. I'm letting him look like my cousin. I'm being nice to him, even though he's a Muggle-born and those are supposed to be loathed." She decided not to tell Eric about all of the kissing they had done--even though in her mind, that was something she had done for him.

Eric didn't answer. "Anyone with a heart would do that, Holly. Besides- you two are cousins, right?"

"No. I doubt this train is bugged, whatever that means, I think it's some Muggle term."

"no, I mean, you two are pretending to be cousins. Maybe for this year, you two should forget the relationship, right?"

Holly pouted. "... I guess so." She sniffled, laying her head on Eric's shoulder.

"This year, though, we should all just be friends! You, me, Fry, Selia, and Jake! The fivesome!"

"Yeah. But Selia's a hypocrite and Jake's a pervert."

"He's nicer than he seems," Eric said defensively.

"Well, I don't see that because he's ruined any chances of friendship. But, anything can happen this year. What the hell."

Eric didn't say anything. Personally, he thought Holly was being kind of stupid, but he didn't really want to say that, so he just smiled. "What the hell," he echoed.

Holly stood up. "Hey. The train stopped."
