A Dark Corridor

Karin was there, with her Pureblood friends. </3

The girl with the dark skin, who shall now be known as Clarisse, was chatting with her. "What do you think of the new classes?" she asked. "Dark Arts was soooo cool, wasn't it?!"

The bespectacled Asian boy, who isn't important enough to get a name, was taking a shot of nasal spray.

"It was interesting," said Karin, after thinking for a minute.

"Just interesting? Nothing more?" Clarisse prompted.

"I mean, it WAS interesting, but I was hoping to actually LEARN something. Like some of those illegal curses..."

"We'll probably get them later this year. I mean, it IS the first day, isn't it? And didn't that one weird guy show us them in like, third year?"

"Moody. Don't speak of him. He imprisoned one of my uncles."

The boy sniffled. "He was awesome! Did you see his eye!?"

"Well, here's the good news about him--he's dead! At least, I think. I overheard my parents talking and I think they said something about him getting cursed."


Holly, having taken a wrong turn and was now just stalking about the castle, happened to be passing through the corridor. She had a look that oozed anger, and glanced over at Karin, not bothering to say anything.

Antonio entered the hallway. "Hello," he said lazily and leaned next to Karin.

Karin had noticed Holly. She was okay-pretty nice, in fact. So, she decided to call her over.

"Holly!" she yelled, waving. "Come over here!" She then glanced over at Antonio, and smiled at him happily.

Antonio slowly wrapped his arms around her neck.

Holly stopped, and turned around. Offering a weak half-smile, she walked over to where everyone else was. "What," she asked flatly.

Karin looked at her. She seemed to be pretty lonely. "I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out with us." she said, while she stroked Antonio's arm.

Holly shrugged. "I guess so. Everyone else is being an asshole, so I might as well."

"Sure! We were just chatting about our classes from earlier today. What did you have, today?"

"Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology... the works. I didn't have Dark Arts, though, not until Wednesday. Everyone's getting all worked up about it. What's it like?"

"...He does some demonstrations." she said, leaving it at that.

Holly fell silent. After a moment, she mumbled, "Oh." She looked down at her feet, fidgeting with her cloak sleeves.

"Are you okay?"

Antonio ran his fingers through Karin's hair. "Holly, why don't you eat breakfast with us tomorrow? You're interesting. Unlike your idiot friends. Do you still consider them friends?" He smiled at her.

Holly looked up at him. "Sure," she smiled back at him. "And, no, I do not consider them friends. Not even Selia, that stupid bitch." She crossed her arms.

"Ugh. Don't even MENTION her name. That girl is probably the most catty, obnoxious person I've ever met in my entire life!"

"And she's such a hypocrite! She once told this guy she hated him, and then literally five minutes later they were all over each other. Ugh."
