Potions .

Serenity slid into the classroom a minute before roll was called, and sat down, grinning.

Meanwhile, Olivia had run out of breath not soon after leaving the great hall. She showed up three minutes later and stole the seat next to Serenity.

Serenity nodded to Liv, but paid attention like a good student.

Slughorn happened to be late that day. He hurried into the room, carrying a large pile of parchment. Slamming the classroom door behind him, he bustled up to the front, setting the papers down on his desk. "Good day class, I'm sorry I'm late! There was a quick staff meeting today during breakfast!" he boomed. "Today, we will be making a Draught of the Living Dead! This should be a nice review for those who were in my class last year! You'll need valerian roots--chopped--and a Sopophorous Bean, cut up. Be careful with those beans, they jump around a lot." He then began rattling off the directions, and other ingredients they would need, saying that they were in the cabinet in the back of the room.

"Your potion should be a pale pink color once you're finished. Once you are, bring up a vile of your potion and pick up your graded homework from last week." Slughorn gestured to the pile of parchment. "Go on now! Don't waste time!"

Serenity went and did the potion-- but it came out a purplish grey color instead of pink. "Hm. Good enough." She brought it up and picked up her homework. Acceptable. "Hm. Good enough."

Olivia was chopping whatever root that was. She wondered how on earth Serenity had finished so fast.

Serenity had finished so fast by just dumping all the ingredients in it and turning it around in circles for two minutes.

"Damn Veela powers. Must be it." She dumped the roots into the cauldron and started to work on cutting the beans.

Amanda quietly finished putting in her last ingrediants, her hands covered in green goop. Staring at the mixture as if it were death, Amanda began to mix it.

Selia was in here, staring at her cauldron hopelessly. She had done all the instructions as asked.
She had double checked them.
And yet, her cauldron was melting in the solution, the potion spilling over onto the floor and then, melting that. Selia backed up against the wall, getting away from the acidic mixture. And then Professor Slughorn came over. "I'm afraid that's a T for you, my dear," He said sadly, then waddled off. Selia tried not to cry. That brought her grade in Potions to a T. The entire grade.

Amanda looked simlar to a mad scientist as she mixed a potion, sprinkling in random ingrediants.

DAMNIT.


Eric was in here. Class had started. He was preparing a potion- this potion that grows back fur and hair. He was adding the rum extract, along with a drop of dwarf's blood. These two were supposed to be added at the same time. He felt lonely, because at the beginning of the year, he had this class with Fry. Now, he was all alone. Or, not exactly. The teacher was late once again, and he didn't exactly have a partner for the class, being the loner he was. And the board said specially to start without the teacher, and that's what everyone had done. So, he just decided to work by himself. But it was really hard to keep on mixing while having to add two ingredients at the same time.

Who was to approach him but a spunky redhead by the name of Jessica. She sat down. "Hey, my partner isn't here, can I work with you?" she asked.

He blushed. "Oh." he managed to say out, though, "Sure! Of course!"

Unluckily for him, she had noticed. "Is your face naturally that red? Or is it a sunburn or something?" She began working on the potion, oblivious that he was really blushing.

"What?! Ohh! Umm... it's sunburnt." he mumbled. He began chopping the Black pine root, letting out it's natural juices. He was good at cooking, therefor naturally good at Potions. Or well, it was easier for him in here. Since it didn't need so much thinking and reading. He only struggled with its essays and such.

"Oh, that's rough. I sunburn easily! I think it's cause of my hair or my skin or something. Cause people with red hair happen to get burnt more easily!" She began going on and on about how she burns so easily. She was quite talkative.

Eric just listened. He didn't have much to say to her, because he was scared she'd think he was an idiot or something. So, he just poured the roots into the potion, and began mixing it.

"... and that's how I learned that I don't get tan lines, I get burn lines! Hey, I think this is almost ready!" she poured some bright blue liquid into it, and the potion turned green. "What color is it supposed to be?"

"Green!" Eric grinned. "We did it right!" And he raised his hand to high-five her like he does with Fry.

She high-fived him. Hard. It was a rather loud slapping sound, too. "Oh! Sorry! Did I hurt you?!"

He shook his head. "Nope!" But, he was holding his hand under the table. It did hurt.

"Great!" she got some of the potion into a flask, wrote their names on a piece of spellotape and put it on the front. She put it up on Slughorn's desk, and went back to Eric's table. "We make a great team!" she beamed.

"Yeah, we sure do!" He grinned, too. "Hopefully your partner won't make it more often, and we can be partners next class, too!" He couldn't believe he just said that.
