Small Cottage

"It was fantastic! Selia's gotten herself married to some cute asian boy. I pulled her aside and asked her if she really was okay with him, because I didn't find him that attractive, but he could've been a male model for how she went on about him.. It was a beautiful wedding, though! On the beach, and she looked fantastic, of course, she's my sister, I couldn't let her go down the aisle in rags, and.. It was just gorgeous." Serenity sat down in the more favorable single chair.

"Mmm-hm?" Elroy obviously wasn't really listening; he was too busy searching through the fridge for that leftover ham.

"Hey, why don't we go out! To a bar! Or a club, or something. Go drinking. Dancing. It would be fun."

Having found the ham, Elroy proceeded to slicing pieces off onto the bread. "Maybe another time."

"I knew you were a square. Deep, deep down.. You're a loooooser!"

"I'm tired. They had be stay later to file or some shit like that..."

"Wow. Do you even hear the words coming out of your mouth? You don't want to go party, get drunk, and dance, because you were working late. That's pathetic. I'm going." Serenity went into her room to change into something more not bridesmaid-y.

"Are you going to make me?" He re-wrapped the ham and returned it to the fridge, then beginning his search for some non-grated cheese.

"You know what, maybe I will!" Serenity came out wearing suitable whoreish club clothes. [Just, use your imagination. I describe clothes too much.] "Come on. It'll be so great. You need to relax more. Plus, tomorrow's a Sunday. Perfect day for a hangover."

"Which is exactly why I can't," said Elroy, meticulously laying the slices of provalone over the shreds of ham. "I have to be up pretty early tomorrow."

"Why?! It's Sunday!" Serenity was frowning now, quite adamant on getting her way.

"Church."

Serenity cracked up. "Oh, okay. Funny. Now let's go!"

Elroy wasn't laughing. "I can't. Next Friday, though."

"You're serious? Come on, Elroy. God? I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you on that one."

He shrugged, finishing off that sandwich with the topping slice of bread. "That's you, then."

"Well.. I suppose you'll be talking about no sex before marriage soon enough, or- or not using condoms. Or next you'll be talking about stoning all the women who don't wear skirts! They brainwash people in church, you know!"

"Don't be stupid. It's for good karma, that's all... Done enough shit over my lifetime, trying to make up for it, I guess."

"Good karma? So you're admitting that you're letting fear and guilt control your life? That's pathetic. And, you've only committed, like, one sin. That I know of. You're just terrified to go to Hell, aren't you? That's horrible and not brave and chivalrous at all. Angel would've smacked you!"

Elroy ignored her and started munching on that sandwich.

Serenity went and changed into her pajamas, then went into Elroy's room, plopping down on his bed. "Sleeping in here!"

"You do that!"

"O-Oh. Okay!" Serenity got all comfortable in the bed. "Will you tuck me in?"

"No!"

"Oh. Please?" She asked. "Pleeeease?"
