Small Cottage

"Do it or I'll leave! I'll go far far away and never see you again ever!"

"Aww, don't..."

"Then sing me a song!"

"No..."

"Well, fine then, Elroy!" Serenity stood up, only to get back down on the longer couch, lying down. "I am not drunk!" She said, and then she passed out on the couch.

And then Elroy burst out into that uncontrollable laughter again.

Serenity, being absolutely unconscious, did not notice.

She woke up the next morning with a throbbing headache. "What the hell?" Serenity muttered to herself. She went over to the kitchen, feeling horribly sick, and started to make herself some eggs. She needed hangover food, and fast.

"ELROY!" Serenity went into Elroy's room one morning, very early. It happened to be Saturday. "I've been thinking. If we're a couple, why aren't you asking me to marry you yet? Or, less extreme, having sex? Or, at the very least, why aren't we kissing? Do you not like me? Because if you're not serious, I can just stop bothering you."

Elroy rolled over to face her, propping himself up on his elbow. Evidently, he'd been awake for a while. They most certainly HAD been doing quite a bit of that... aside from the marriage bit, of course. "What... You're not bothering me!" He faintly smiled, obviously still tired after the previous night.

"Stop lying. It's six in the morning and I just woke you up, of course I'm bothering you. And you haven't once asked about how my job-getting is going! And it's going horribly. You obviously don't care very much about me as a person!" Serenity was saying, all whilst pouting.

Elroy was silent for a moment. Then, in a moment of candidness, he asked: "Do you want to get married?"

"Well maybe. I don't know. Probably not yet. Why are you asking me? It's supposed to be a surprise, you moron. It's no fun if you ask for my opinion on the matter first."

Looked her right in those blue glassies, he did. "I'm asking."

"Right now? You're asking? As in really asking, or asking my opinion? Because if you're just asking my opinion, I'll shoot you. I will."

"I'm asking you, right now, Serenity Rosen... thing. You wanna get married?"

"Yes. Yes, of course!" Serenity said, grinning. Then she bounded over and hugged him. "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees!"

He laughed nervously, patting her lightly on the shoulder. "Yeah, yeah, right..."

Serenity didn't say anything, she just cried into his shirt. Happy tears, of course.

And thus was that day.

Serenity appeared, with a crack, in the middle of the living room. Specifically, on the table. "Damn." She jumped down, still holding the bags. "PRESENTS!"

Elroy had gotten the Christmas holidays off work. So, like an accessory to the furniture, he was lounging about in that chair of his, reading a devotional book. He didn't have to get ready for the Christmas Eve service for a while, still.

Serenity stared at him, a thought suddenly striking her. "What the hell are you reading?!"

"A book," he said curtly, keeping his index finger on the page he was on as he closed it as to not lose his place. "What is it?"

Serenity was surprised- she hadn't expected him to actually listen. "Um... Do you want to put up Christmas decorations with me?"
