Small Cottage

"Well, first you get a good angle, then you..." Elroy mimicked executing an uppercut punch, making a small popping noise with his lips. "Like that."

"That's not what I've been wondering. I've been wondering if you still retain the sexual frequency you had back in school."

He mused for a moment. "Frequency, not so much. I haven't really had the time for that... I mean, I have. I've had all the time in the world; it's just that it's not so easy as it was before. Teenage girls, they'll put out for anyone. I blame hormones for that. But now, most of them are either already taken, loaded with disease..."

"Haven't you ever thought it could be you? You're losing attractiveness. And, don't look at me when you say disease. They use protection in Amsterdam."

"No, see, that's in the eye of the beholder. And we're not muggles, we have spells for that sort of thing. Didn't that ever occur to you?"

"I don't need spells for that kind of thing, because I don't need spells for that kind of thing. Plus, doesn't that sort of seem like cheating to you?"

"What do you mean?"

[I dunno. When were the first two?]

"Well, if we get things without working for them, it takes out everything we learn from it and just gives us the finished product. Personally, I find myself not wanting to use magic for several aspects of my life. Like, studying. I could float three books at once, or jinx my professors, or- or- or imperiuse my roommate to do my homework. But I wouldn't learn anything."

[First one was like during/right after the start of the battle, the second was somewhere else.]

He took that barstool back. "You're going to make an excellent lawyer."

"Thanks. That means alot." She smiled, and felt a bit awkward. "Well, now I don't really want to have sex anymore."
[Robin Rachel gave them to Elroy, as a pretend gift from Robin that one time.]

[Fourth.]

Beat. "You wanted to?"

"Well, before we got to talking about magic and how it took the fun out of things, yeah."

"I see. Talking's a major turn-off for me anyway."

"Well, gosh, I must be a nightmare then. Can't shut up. Gonna go take a shower, get the Irene smell off of me." She went into the bathroom, shutting the door, and the water quickly started up.

Elroy laughed to himself. "Sure are."

Serenity didn't hear that last comment. The noise in the cottage quieted down to the steady pound of the water for a while longer. And then, after the brief silence, the singing started. There were a variety of songs, all the ones Serenity could think of, and it wasn't that she was singing the wrong notes or anything- it just got horribly annoying, and she was singing very loudly.
In the shower, oblivious to her own singing, Serenity was shampooing.

And Elroy picked up the newspaper he'd started that morning and opened right to the comics section, looking for where he'd left off.

Serenity got out of the shower, with the typical hair towel and the body towel, with no shoes on. She was still singing loudly, ignoring Elroy completely.

Serenity was breaking Elroy's concentration, but he didn't seem to mind.

She glanced over at him- no response. She concentrated on singing much louder, and getting out more cookies.

He began tapping his fingertip on the counter in time to the song she was bawling out.

Serenity looked over at Elroy again, and while doing so, dropped the package of cookies. They shattered, and got all over the floor. "Oh, for God's sake.." She said, getting down on the floor to try to clean them up.

Elroy looked up, trying to see the clock from where he was sitting. Everything beyond three feet was all a blur, though. "What time is it?"

"Um, it's two fourteen." Serenity went over and sat down on Elroy's lap, not really caring what he thought. "Is something wrong with your eyes?"

"What? No, not at all," Elroy lied, holding the newspaper in front of both of them. He rested his chin on the top of her head, not caring that her hair was still wet.
