A random walking path that goes like everywhere

There was Amanda and Tanner walking.

"Your friends are... wow." he laughed.

"Oh that was just err.. Robin and Rachel debating! You should see when their mad!" Amanda laughed at this ^^

"Debating? ONLY? Man, I think... I'll avoid them." He grinned widely.
"Well, Oliver had told me about your friends, but I never knew he was exaggerating!"

"Eh? Oh how do you know Oliver?"

"Oh, he's my brother. ^^"

[[DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN ]]

Amanda blinked, flabbergasted. "Oh I didn't know he had a brother? How is he doing on the ship to go to South America?"

"No, he's some quidditch assistant dude thing. I dunno. But he's doing fine." Tanner was beginning to wonder if he should have told her or not.

"What?! He said he was going overseas for five years and wouldn't be back for a while?! He ALSO said hecouldn't communicate with me during that time perioud."

"He did? Oh. He was GOING to. But changed his mind at the last minute. He hasn't had much contact with us, either. I bet his job is a heck of a lot of work. I think you shouldn't worry too much about it, though."

"Well, I hope he got my owl..." Amanda looked tanner into the eyes, her green ones easily locked with his.

"He must have, I'm sure at the moment, he's reading your letter with excitement. I think..." Tanner, shrugged, and, well, stared back. o3o

"It said it was too awkward to date him while he was so much older than me..." Amanda continued, looking down, "Also it said I liked someone else..." She started to lean a bit closer to Tanner.

"Oh, that's right...He IS a bit old... And... umm..." he leaned away from Amanda.
"He's met somebody else,"

Amanda's head lifted up. Her eyes turned cold. "... I see... Well.. I have class. Bye." With an icy nod of the head, Amanda ran off, tears running down her cheeks.

Tanner hit himself in the forehead.
WHY DID HE SAY THAT?! Now he just made some fourth year run off crying. He's an idiot. Why?

Right...
Jealousy. But it's true. And he just made her cry.
