"Yeah, I did well on my OWLs. Rach, I already have my braces off, see? I have grown, a couple inches, and you really talk fast," he laughed.

Rachel stared at him for a minute. "...You look weird with straight teeth. Like, it doesn't seem to suit you."

"Well, that's because you've only known me with effed up teeth."

"Yeah, well, it was cute!"

Nick half-smiled. "Not many people thought that it was cute, namely me."

"Well it was!"

"No, it wasn't!"

"How wasn't it cute!?"

"Because my teeth looked horrible!"

"They weren't THAT bad," she said. She than sighed, and walked towards a window, and began to stare out of it. "Remember when we first started Hogwarts? It didn't seem that long ago."

"It does. And now we're in sixth year."

"It's weird."

"I never thought I'd get a beautiful girl to be my girlfriend. Back then."

"Stop saying such nonsense, Nick. I should be the one saying that to you. Except, you're not beautiful. You're cute."

"It's true, though," Nick sat on his desk. "You're pretty, you're smart..."

"You must be smarter then me-you got must better grades then me. What are you studying to be anyway?"

Nick shrugged. "An Auror, I guess. What about you?"

"Wait-an AUROR?" Rachel turned to stare at him in disbelief.

"Yeah, an Auror."

Rachel flopped down onto his bed, and mumbled something about how weird everyone and everything is becoming.

"What? I didn't hear that."

"Never mind!" she said a bit louder.

"Sorry..."

"It's fine-I should be saying sorry. It's just, I'm scared. That's all."

Nicolas and Katherine were back for the summer. They were playing baseball in the Sawyers' backyard, and they looked like they were having a genuinely good time. They didn't let the thought of "Mudbloods" or "Muggle-borns" cross their minds while they had some fun with the Muggle neighborhood kids, just like old times.

"Do you need to paint the fence again?" one little boy had asked Nicolas once arriving to set up the small make-shift baseball diamond in the backyard. Nick shook his head.

"Not this summer."

"Hey, Kath, Nick, where do you guys go throughout the year?" the boy asked, staring up at the now five-foot-six Nicolas.

"Some boarding school out in the country," the two answered at the same time. Nick wished that he hadn't have thought about Hogwarts, because now he was thinking about all of the things that had happened over the year. He quickly brushed these thoughts off, but they were replaced with things like "What if Rachel or Max or somebody saw you playing ball with these Muggles?"
At that point, Nicolas was hoping Max would stop by. They hadn't talked in a while, and it would be amusing to see Max try his hand at baseball, Nick thought.
