Fifth Year Girls Dorm

"...Rachel... What is that 'Oh shoot' for?"

"Err, nothing, nothing's wrong. Just, do you mind if I go a bit shorter?"

Truth was though, something WAS wrong. Rachel had accidentally cut a part of Amanda's hair so short, it went up to her shoulder blade.

"Whatev."

"And uh, so Amanda, how do you feel like having a bob for your hair?"

"I'll take that as a yes..." And so, Rachel began to cut off even more hair, leaving Amanda with this hair style in the spoiler box:

Except with parts of it uneven, and the bangs way more messily done.

"May I see...?"

"Uh sure," said Rachel passing the mirror to her in embarrassment. "Maybe we should put in some highlights..."

"It can't be that ba- b--- RACHEL!"

"AH!!" Rachel ran screaming out of the dorm.

Amanda grabbed a pillow and ran up to her dorm, the pillow covering her head.

Serenity was sitting upside down off her bed, legs holding onto it, reading a textbook. The book was upside down, but, so was she. Humming the Safety Dance, she swayed back and forth an inch from the ground, hair in pigtails, wearing crappy clothes-- loose pajama pants with ducks on them and a yellow tank top.
[SAFETY DANCE. IT IS WIN.]

"I had better study if I want to get good owls!" She sang to herself, continuing reading.

Serenity swung herself up, sighing and putting the book down. Crossing her arms, she put her head down and shook her head furiously. Memorizing the things wasn't hard-- it was simply studying what to memorize that got her spirits so low. She reached out a hand for her iPod, but it wasn't there.

Not being an idiot, she had left it at home because it just didn't work at Hogwarts anyways. Another failure, some music would really help right now. Blinking, setting her head up, and watching her cats- who had grown into full grown Maine Coons and were pouncing around elegantly with each other- she decided not to pressure herself too much in one day, not wanting to turn into her mother.

Overworked, overtired, and uncaring were three words that described Ms. Méliès, as her mother had resorted to using her maiden name instead of being referred to, as she put it, "--the scum of the earth family Rosensteel." A gnawing growl in her stomach bothered her for the third time today, and Serenity got out a bagel and munched on it, feeling sick.
IT LOOKED BIGGER HERE.

She sighed again, picking up one of her massive cats and brushing its fur, looking at her cat like it wasn't there.

Robin was settled on her bed on her knees. She was writing roughly on a piece of parchment pressed against her textbook.

Rachel was bent over on her Potions essay at her desk, her face really close to it. She really hadn't any idea on how to write this thing. So, she decided to ask for help.

"Hey, has anyone completed the Potions essay for Snape yet?"

Robin slightly shook her head.

"I just need to finish it up, the last few sentences wrapping it all together, you know? I have such problems with summing the entire thing up.." Serenity said, looking up.

All her work was strewn across her bed, a lapdesk in front of her with a lamp going. Indeed, she was looking at a (short as possible, of course) sort of long piece of parchment with sort of fancier than needed lettering. It wasn't neat-- on the contrary, words frequently went nearly off the page in her haste, and there were smudge-marks from where her hand had rubbed against the paper. The spotted white and grey quill was stopped in front of the page. Serenity herself was still in her pajama like clothes,and was lying on her belly, supporting her torso with one elbow, other hand over her parchment.

"Why do you ask?"

"'Cause, I have no idea what to write about. You'd think there would be alot about dragon blood, but me and Amanda went to the library to look up stuff, and there wasn't much about in POTION brewing."

Rachel looked at all her homework and sighed. This was going to be a very long year...

"Ah, thanks, that gives me an idea for my conclusion!" Serenity dipped her quill in ink quickly, scribbling down.. [/font]
Although there are only a few uses for dragons' blood compared to other ingredients in potions, it has proved to be a crucial element to put in your cauldron many times. [font=Georgia]
"Anyways, I just wrote down four uses, like it's a great oven cleaner, the stock prices for it, and how expensive it is currently. Just so I didn't fail, I wrote a paragraph about how salamander blood is similar to dragon blood but isn't replaceable. It's not true, probably, I just fudged it because their both reptiles. So, most of my essay is clever repeating and discussing what very little I know."
She grinned mischievously at Rachel. "It's gotten me exceeds expectations in charms and transfiguration already, even though Snape is a little stricter than Flitwick and McDonalds."

Rachel rolled her eyes, and head desked. "Gosh, you get better grades than me even! I mean, no offense you spend so much time focusing on your clothes and stuff, and I well, get..." she trailed off, and tried to go back to her studies.

Robin closed her potions textbook and stood up.
"Done. If you need a textbook to look things up," she pointed her thumb to her bed.
"Knock yourself out,"
She strolled out of the dorm and down the steps off to the common room.

Serenity grinned again.
"Hey, don't be so hard on me, I've spent the last week reading textbooks! One was about how to write smart-sounding essays, though."
Giggling, she opened up a transfiguration textbook and got out a fresh piece of parchment. Writing a quick title, conjuring unliving and inanimate objects, Serenity stared at the paper blankly.
"I have no clue what this is."

At that moment Laura walked in, spreading rumor of the snogging Tanner was a two timer, because she had looked over the railing of the stairs and saw the entire thing. She was talking to her Raven Claw friend who let her in.
