Small Home in Japanese Seclusion

"Alright, then, that's fine with me. You know, it's kind of fun, sitting on the floor like this."

"Yeah! It makes your butt feel refreshed!"

"Oh, that's not what I meant by fun, but, if you say so.." Selia said, smiling up at the ceiling.

"Fun, as in what?" Jake turned and side-glanced at her.

"Sitting and staring at the ceiling is so fun. It makes me feel like a little kid." She side-glanced at him, and then burst out laughing. "We're probably cleaning the floors with our clothes!"

Jake burst out laughing too. He felt overwhelmed when he saw Selia begin laughing, which had lead him to laughing, too. "Yeah, about the kiss, I don't think I'm up for it. I'm sorry. I feel bad for having kissed you. But I don't don't want to ruin our relationship! It's too good!"

"It's fine," Selia said, smiling. "I'll tell you the truth, the first time you said that, after that detention, I was torn up about what you said. But really, I feel about the same way. And if you EVER kiss me again without my permission, I'm going to smack you!" She said, breaking up into laughter again.

Jake burst out laughing. Jake opened the box again, and took out a brownie. "This time, though, you swear there's no pot in these? I'm feeling all giddy and such."

"I swear! I don't even know where to get pot. Maybe it's the extra love and care I put into every brownie I make!" She said, trying not to crack up any more than she already had. "I'm going to sell them when I grow up, and make billions of dollars!"

"Billions?" He said in a mockingly questioning voice.

He said this like the scene in "Cat in the Hat" when they were having the cooking show, and the cat in the hat said, "Anythiiing?"

"Yes, billions! I'll share some if you ask nicely." Selia said, looking as serious as she could. Then she broke the seriousness and grinned at him.

"Billions?"

"Yes, Jake, billions!" Selia said. "What are you going to do once you graduate?"

"I don't know."

"That's not good. You only have two more years.."

That didn't seem to bother him. "Ahhh, 2 years. That's what, 730 days? 17,280 hours? Countless minutes? Yeah, I have time."

"Wow, did you do that all in your head?" Selia said, trying to keep up with the math. "That's amazing."

"Yeah, but now I have a headache."

Selia grinned. "It'd take me hours to do that kind of math."

"Wow, really. Are you, like, dumb in math or something?"

Selia looked offended. "I have to write it all out otherwise I lose my train of thought."

"Train of thought? Like, 'choo-choo'?" Jake asked confusedly.

"No, silly, what I'm thinking at the time! But, I suppose... Yeah, like a choo-choo train."

Jake brought his arm up and down like pulling an invisible rope from the ceiling. "CHOO CHOO!" he cried out with each yank.
