Small Home in Japanese Seclusion

Jake grinned. "Hey, it's fine, it's fun, right?"

Selia decided to change the subject before the maggots got to her head. No pun intended. "Merry Christmas!" She said. "I love Christmas, I really do."

"Me too." Jake picked up all the stuff, and put them away. His family went off, they were respectful enough to leave them all alone.

"You know what I realized? Eric needs a girlfriend. We should try to set him up with someone." Selia said.

Jake frowned. "I'm not a very good matchmaker..."

"Well neither am I, and I don't want to force him anything. We should just say something to him about getting a girlfriend, you know, a little suggestion. I don't want to be pushy.." Selia said. "If you're pushy in a relationship, that's what causes him to chea- break up with you."

Jake shrugged. "Well, let's do it, then."

"Great." Selia smiled at him. "So..."

Jae groaned. He grabbed his forehead and fell backwards onto his back. "I'M SO BORED."

"So am I." Selia said, leaning over him. "Hey, um, you said you had an extra special present for me, and this book isn't extra special, really. I don't wanna be greedy, but do you have like a necklace or a bracelet hiding somewhere, all wrapped up in a box.." She looked like a child on Christmas morning. But that example doesn't work here, because she is a child on Christmas morning.

"I did, but I chickened out."

"Oh. It's just a bracelet.." Selia grumbled, imagining silver and diamonds going to waste.

"N-no! It wasn't. I was going to return that kiss of yours."

"Oh, you were?" Selia asked. "Well, then, that's a different story."

"yeah. But I thought it was cheap returning such things, so, I just chose the first thing I found, which I suppose is cheap too, but I've never been good with gifts."

"Instead of returning the kiss, why don't you give me a new one?"

"Oh..." Jake frowned, as though thinking it over. "But, wouldn't it be boring to be giving back the same gift?" He looked up at her from the floor, his eyes for once slightly wider than before. He grinned.

Selia stared back at him, but shook her head angrily. It's not a game, she thought to herself. I really want to kiss him and he's putting value on it like I'm some sort of animal.

Suddenly, he grabbed her shoulders, pulled her down, and kissed her.

Selia kissed him back for a little while, then pulled away, looking the tiniest bit scared. "Sorry.."

Jake nodded. "Yeah, that was really weird."

"I liked it." Selia said decisively, sitting down next to him.

"Really? I liked it, but..."

"When Fry and Eric ate my brownies, they said that it changed every bite. Maybe if we tried again.." Selia said, thinking about it for a while.

Jake looked thoughtful. "Maybe. But, at the same time, I want to savour the taste."
