The Yashnid Household

"How can you mistake this tree for that tree?!" Selia complained, brushing leaves off her. "But this looks a whole lot better. You first, so if you decide to leave again, I won't be halfway up the tree."

Jake laughed nervously. "Yeah... I just wanted to see if you'd climb the other tree. Hah." He scratched his head nervously with his signature grin, and began to climb up the tree really fast.

"What?! I'll get you for that!" Selia shouted, laughing and climbing up the tree after him. She wasn't as fast, but she got up there. "Hah. Got you."

Jake laughed. "Still, you should have seen your face when you were climbing up that tree."

"I can imagine I was frightened. It looked like it could fall down at any moment." Selia said, not really seeming that angry.

Jake stared at Selia's shoulder. "There's a ladybug on your shirt," he said, pointing at it.

"Aww, cute!" Selia said, picking up the ladybug on a finger. It flew off. "Bye, little ladybug.. I always liked them. They're just so adorable."

"When I was younger, I liked to eat them."

"Really? That's sort of.. odd. Aren't they poisonous?"

"I don't know! I remember eating them, though."

"That's silly. You were an odd little child, weren't you?"

"Yeah. I was pretty crazy.. What about you?" Jake shifted his weight on the branch.

"I used to follow around my cats and act like them all day long. I would go under tables, eat their cat food, drink their water.."

"Now that's gross!"

"The cat food was actually delicious." Selia said, grinning.

Jake raised his eyebrows. "What did it taste like? Fish?" He blinked.

"Well, it was salty like fish, but it was sort of crunchy like a potato chip. And it had a very meaty taste. I liked it."

"Do you still eat it?!"

"No!" Selia said, frowning. "Okay. Sometimes. But I brush my teeth afterwards!"

"THAT'S GROSS!" Jake laughed.

"IT'S GOOD!" Selia screamed back.

"But still! That's just sick!" But, as he said this, he was getting closer to her.

Selia had noticed this, and was leaning in closer to him, too. She was about to kiss him, when something snapped, and the branch fell down. Selia screamed, and ended up under the branch on the ground, kicking and squirming.

Jake groaned. "Owww..." He muttered, brushing twigs and such out of his hair. He had grazed his knee, but didn't really care. "Aww, man! I was hoping to know what fish breath was like!" he sighed, turning to look at Selia, and stole a kiss onto her cheek before standing up and running.

"Fish breath?! I didn't eat any today!" Selia screamed, outraged. She pushed the branch off her and got up, taking leaves out of her hair. "This is just disgusting. There's probably bugs all over me.. I hope he didn't get in the shower first." She went and headed back into the house.
