The Yashnid Household

Three hours later, Selia was in the kitchen, making brownies. She had found the proper ingredients, a bowl, the pan, and the spoon without asking, and now the entire house was starting to smell like chocolatey goodness.

Jake entered the room. He had a few pink lines on his face from flying down from the tree, and had just taken a shower, so his hair was dripping wet. "What's that smell I smell? It smells like pot."

"It's not drugs. They're brownies, silly. And they're baking, so you can't have any yet. You look clean." Selia had gotten to the shower first, so she was clean, but not wet. "Would you like to lick the spoon? I haven't washed it yet."

"Give," he had his hand outstretched, and had ordered her so in a way as if he were speaking to a dog. He had that expectant look on his face, too.

Selia held up the spoon. "Hm, no. I don't think so. You didn't say please, so I'll just rinse it off.." She teased, holding it in front of his face.

"Please?" Jake looked at her beggingly [[don't think this is a word]] and smiled.

[Think you meant pleadingly. No worries.]

"Hmm.. Fine." Selia handed him the spoon, grinning.

[[Rrrright.]]

And so, he licked it clean. "Thanks~ So, why are your brownies so abnormally good? You swear you don't add some secret ingredient?"

"There is a secret ingredient. But it's not drugs or anything. It's something you wouldn't think of putting in brownies, but it makes them really good."

"Is it paprika?"

Selia stared at him, her jaw dropping. "How did you taste it!? It's supposed to be my secret!"

"Wait- is it really paprika?! NO WAY! I don't even know what it tastes like. I just... said it randomly!"

"It's paprika!" Selia exclaimed, mouth still wide open. "HOW DID YOU GUESS?!"

"I told you! I just guessed!"

"That's amazing.. Oh! Brownies are done!" The timer was beeping, and Selia opened up the oven and brought the pan out. "It's hot, be careful."

"Ohhhh..." Jake sniffed the air above them.

Selia hit his nose with the spoon. Gently. But, not too softly. "Back! No boogers on the brownies."

"Ugh, fine. Nice way to treat your host."

"You're getting the first one. Just be patient." Selia got out a knife and cut one, then handed it to Jake. "They're still pretty hot."

But he didn't care! He bit right into it. And since it was still hot, it was kind of melting inside.

Selia got a corner off one and tried it herself. "They're alright. Anyways, Jake, how are you doing? You've got pink on your face, I forgot to tell you before.."

"Hey, so do you. It's from when we fell down the tree. They're scratches, and stuff. They're all over my arms and legs, too." He motioned to them.

"Yup, I've got some on my stomach pretty badly, I think my shirt got snagged or something. It just.. You look like a tiger."

"I do?! Man, I've always wanted to have somebody say that to me." He seemed to gaze off somewhere, and got that mellow smile on his face.
