Except he hadn't gotten up.

Well, theoretically, stealing his chair meant she sat on top of him.

Oh, well then.

Elroy leaned over, trying to see past her.

"Hey, Elroy.."

"What?" He sounded annoyed.

"Ahum... Nothing. I just.. sort of wanted.." She sighed, for once not trying to be dramatic.

"Whatever it is, no."

"I wanted to kiss you." Serenity sounded extraordinarily crestfallen.

"Haven't you had enough for the night?"

"That guy-- That guy smelled. Really bad. Like he sprayed a can of cologne on himself."

Elroy'd apparently begun to eat the pasta dish again, disregarding the bits of lint. They were few and far between anyway.

"Thanks. And, stop eating my robe."

Serenity was ignored.

Serenity smiled nonetheless, and just sort of curled up, in a kitten-y way, closing her eyes. Sex really does make you tired, she thought, yawning.

Elroy didn't seem to mind; at least he could see the TV now.

Serenity smelled faintly of the guy's cologne. But anyways, for the second time in like a year, she fell asleep near/on top of Elroy. And it was cute and such.

There was a stack of magazines tied up with twine sitting next to the garbage.

Suddenly, the stack of catalogues found themselves being picked up by a young blonde female laden with luggage, by the name of Serenity Rosensteel, coming home for Christmas. "ELROY!" She shouted happily, closing the door behind her. "Hey, I'm home for the holidays!"

Which, at that time, Elroy was still at work.

Serenity frowned. What a welcome! She'd just traveled four hours by train to get here, and Elroy was still at work. She sat down on the couch and started to work on the more homework her professors had given.

Serenity, by this time, had been through about half a year of law school, and was halfway through her wanting to quit. She was home again, and she was nearly falling off a chair, completely asleep. Something about college meant sleep deprivation, and pounds of homework. If she had thought the first few weeks were hard, it had only gotten worse, with case studies, moot court, partner assignments.. Serenity was still going at it.
She seemed like a completely different person, with grey circles around her eyes, and, God forbid, good grades. The glasses were still absent, but the change was evident. Serenity Rosensteel was enjoying her classes.
