[I've been busy, okay! Will you just leave me the f alone?! It's difficult enough to get on the damn forum with two children running around screaming, and it's even harder to post anything without them looking!]

Serenity woke up one morning, still on her vacation, and stared out the window. She got up, still in her nightgown, and stomped into Elroy's room, slamming open the door and opening the blinds.

Elroy groaned and rolled so that he wasn't facing the harsh morning sunlight now pouring in from the window.

Serenity promptly sat, cross-legged, on the bed next to him, facing towards the windows. She leaned down so her eyes were level with his. "Good morning."

Elroy glared at her. "It's six in the morning."

"Well.. I wanted to talk to you." She said, smiling.

"Can't you wait?"

"No! I mean.. I had a bad dream..." She trailed off, looking out the window. It was dull and foggy, like that before-sunrise haze.

"What happened."

"Well, there was this princess. And she was very pretty, and she lived up in a tower." Serenity started. "And she was very calm, and peaceful. But then, outside the tower, some men started fighting a war. Everything was bloody and dark, and the churches were abandoned, and bodies got piled inside of them, and they were burned. There was this horrible music playing, some opera churchy stuff, and then the princess went outside, to try to stop the fighting, but nobody listened to her, and when she touched a dead body, her hair started to change colors, and it was all dark purple. She started fighting, with them, and.. it was horrible. She was killing people, and babies, and men and women.. And all the while, the people kept on singing out of nowhere, and there were fungus and ogres everywhere, then the princess stopped in the middle of the battlefield, and everyone was dead, and she was singing a nursery song.." Serenity finished her story in a frightened whisper.

Alas, Elroy had fallen back to sleep around the part where she was describing the burning corpses.

Serenity laid down next to him, shuddering. "Please wake up, Elroy." She said softly, trying not to cry.

"I'm awake," El murmured. He certainly was not.

"Hug, then?" Serenity asked.

He slung whatever arm wasn't under him over Serenity. "Now hush."

Serenity hushed obediently, and just sort of stayed still, eyes half open. After around twenty minutes of silence, she was asleep.

And about three hours later, the doorbell rang.

Serenity sat up, got out of bed, and went to get the door, not appreciating getting woken up. She was just starting to have a good dream, too..

Elroy stayed in the bed, still sound asleep. The bell rang again.

"Yes?" Serenity asked, opening up the door. "Hello?"
