Small Cottage

Elroy had gone back into the room and was now dragging Irene out of the house. "I'm really sorry about this," he said to Serenity.

"You're the one who got her pregnant!" Serenity was starting to scream again. "Just GO AWAY!"

"Oh, so it's my fault. You didn't have to go and insult her like that, you know!"

"She just barged in here, woke me up, and then woke you up! Plus, I was jealous! And-And- How could you even say that?! She beat me up, for God's sake!"

"AFTER you'd said that."

"So it's my fault she's completely insane!" Serenity shouted.

"HA!" Elroy grimaced. "Not at all. She's been that way."

Serenity put the washcloth up to her mouth, trying to stop the bloody lip before it scarred. "So why did you date her?"

"Loved her for it. She had spunk, you know?"

"No, sorry, I don't know. The only guy I loved happened to be a crazy murderer, and I don't think that classifies as simply spunk." She seemed rather cold.

Elroy bit his lip. After a momentary pause, he exited through the still-open door, and propped the frozen Irene against her car. She fell over quite a few times, and in the process of setting her back up, Elroy was met by a pair of beady, dark-brown eyes, much resembling his mother's.

Serenity felt a great deal of hatred towards Irene. Not just because she had gotten positively mauled by the bitch. Because. Because Elroy had loved her. She had Elroy's child. That ugly psycho had everything Serenity had wanted in life. Serenity got up, opened the cabinets, and pulled out all of her pots and pans, throwing them on the ground and scream/crying.

Serenity went outside and walked over to the car. "I think I'm going to go back to school tomorrow, early." She said to Elroy. God, I sound so frail and stupid. She thought to herself. "I just.. I want to go back."

Except Elroy had already gone to get that bread Serenity had requested. Irene was still petrified against the side of the car while the three year old was tugging at her arm desperately trying to wake his mother from whatever trance she'd fallen into.

"Oh.. Oh gosh. I'm really sorry. But if I unfreeze you, you'll beat me up.." Serenity said, looking frightened.

The child looked up at Serenity. "Mum won't talk to me!" he cried.

"Your mum is just, uh, taking a nap. She'll be awake very soon. Would you like to play a game until she wakes up?"

His face lit up. "What game?"

"We could play tag. We could play hide n seek. We could make cookies. We could.. We could play legos."

"Mum said not to leave the car."

"Oh. Okay, so then we can.. Maybe.. We could play rock paper scissors?" Serenity seemed exasperated.

"Okay!"

"UNFREEZE ME, YOU BITCH! I'LL BITE YOUR FUCKIN' ARMS OFF!"

"Do you think I should wake up your mom?" Serenity said as she was playing rock paper scissors. "Nah. I'll wait for Elroy to get back."

"Who's Elroy?" Upon seeing Serenity shoot paper, Hugh conspicuously switched to scissors at the last second.

"Elroy.." Serenity didn't notice. "Elroy is very sweet. He's a little rough. He's very rough, actually. He's nice, though. He likes sleeping in, and he's very handsome. I try to make him food, and cookies, but it doesn't work. He works very hard. He's your dad, don't you know him?"
