Fifth Year Girls Dorm

"WELL YOU'LL BE STUDYING WHILE QUIZZING ME. IT'S ALL THE SAME, ISN'T IT!?"

"I dunno..."

"AGH! FINE!" She grabbed a textbook and began yelling out random questions.

"What's the value of a dried salamander tail?!"

"OOOOOH, It can be used in potions, can't it!?"

"IT MAKES YOUR POTIONS CONSTITUENCY THICKER!"

Robin pointed at Rachel.
"CORRECT! And obviously it's used for potions. Do you think we'll need a salamander's tail in Trans- oh, wait, nevermind. Ehehe!"

Serenity muttered something a little rude at Rachel, but jumped up, eager for the next question.
"NEEXT!"

"What properties are needed to avoid a chemical explosion when making a hazardous potion?"

Serenity's eyes flashed in recognition.
"WOLFSBANE!" She screamed, pointing at Robin.

"Depends. It was a trick question. You just need to follow the order to avoid explosion."

Serenity sniffled.


Wolfsbane wasn't even a potions ingredient that she knew of. She had made it up so it would sound cool.

Serenity was crouching next to the fire, feeling sick. She had eaten her entire six years' supply of chocolate, and the ones with firewhiskey in them probably had spoiled.

And the next morning, Serenity woke up next to the fire, looking quite.... not so pretty. Her hair was straggly, makeup running down her face, and robes crinkled up where she had slept on them. Sere sat up quickly, and groaned- she suddenly had an ear-splitting headache. Learning, she slowly got up and staggered over to the grandfather clock. Nine forty-five.
Class.
Five.
Minutes.
With a scream, Serenity threw on a pair of bunny slippers that belonged to a seventh year, and ran down the hall into the Great Hall, intent on fulfilling her promise on eating.

It was night time now, and Rachel found herself pacing back and forth in her dorm room. Tomorrow was OWLS, and instead of actually studying, Rachel was doing the rather useless activity of pacing back and forth.

Robin was settled on her bed, the flash cards scattered around her, and she had totally let them go- she was simply reading from the textbooks now.

"Robin, why do the Charms test have to be first?"

"...Because Charms begins with the letter C...?" she said uncertainly.

"...Then why am I not having my Ancient Runes test first then!?"

"...Oh... right... Jeez, I dunno!"

"This whole school is just a big pile of jerks. And STUPID Professor Umbridge keeps on making the dumbest rules there are!"

"You know, it's like she's... oh... nevermind. She HAS taken over the school."

"I hope she gets sacked-no, killed is more like it."

"Trampled by hippogriffs."

"BURNED AT THE STAKE!!"

"Thrown off a cliff, onto a ton of pointy rocks, then eaten alive- if she's still alive- by army ants and vultures."
