A random walkway

"I don't care about the color. Hey, Karin! We should have a giant shopping trip for my birthday, it's in July, so we'll be off school, and we'll both go shopping and have credit cards, and it'll be in-- OH MY GOSH, WHY DON'T WE GO TO NEW YORK!? SERENITY CAN SUPERVISE US!"

"Sure, why not," she said casually. "Never been to the States before, though,"

"Oh, it'll be great! Are you done? Don't rush, I'm just asking."

"Just need to put on the lip gloss," said Karin as she was looking for some. "And maybe some blush,"

"Cool! Then we get to go to the outfits. Hey, after this, Karin, I'll make you look cute!"

"Alright," said Karin brushing on some rusty colored blush. "Don't worry, this will go on nicely."

"I love rust. Such a wonderful color."

"I agree completely,"

"It looks really good on lipstick."

"Hmm, never tried a rusty colored lipstick before. I should, sometime,"

"Right. You done? I'm anxious to start on your face!"

"Yep, go crazy. But not TOO crazy." And she took a spot in the vanity.

"Of course I won't! You just watch!"
Selia started quickly putting Karin's pretty short red hair into two short and thin braids, tying them with little black bows. Then she moved on, putting on some gray eyeliner, brown mascara, and.. "Please close your eyes!"

"No problem," and she closed them.

Selia swiped soft strokes of shiny silver right along the lashline, then made the rest of her eyes a light creme color. "You can open! You just need a little foundation on your nose, it's slightly tanner than your skin." Selia dabbed some on, rubbing it in, and stepped away from the mirror. The cutesy makeup and hairstyle was different from what Karin usually wore, and Selia was worried about her reaction, she watched closely.

Karin looked at herself in the mirror, and a smile formed upon her face. "Well, it's a change alright. But hey- it's a good change! I like it,"

"GREAT! I think you look really good! Time for clothes!" Selia was about to jump over to the clothes, but she hadn't looked at herself yet. How rude of her! Karin's hard work would not go to waste! Selia dipped her head down into the mirror's vantage point, and she grinned at herself. She looked catlike, and definitely older. Much older. The makeup made her look more likely to make out with someone then talk to them.
Selia quite liked it.
"Alright! To the clothes!"

"Oh yeah, I forgot about all the clothes she had. God, you and your sisters are so lucky,"

"Yeah, I suppose." Selia looked a little out of it, like she always did when the topic of her sister and family came up. "But, -- OH MY GOSH, KARIN, YOU HAVE TO WEAR THIS. THIS WILL FIT THE LOOK I GAVE YOU PERFECTLY.!" Selia pulled out a simple low-knee length halter style sundress- black and white polka dots, with an oversized red belt around the stomach.

"That's adorable!" said Karin grabbing it, to get a better look at it. "May I keep it?"

"Of course~! I'd love for you to! You'd look so cute!"
