Train Compartment #7

Serenity had come immediately to her favorite compartment, plopping down and taking off her heels, putting them next to her cat cage. She always told people the seats were softer here, and since it was in the middle of the train, if you looked out the window on a curve, you could see the end of the train. It was really nice, and the snack cart always came before everything was gone. So, Serenity sat here, nose pressed against the glass, waiting for movement.

Serenity curled up and sighed. Olivia, Chuck, nerd, and Rachel were in the compartment across the hall- she had just seen the entrance of the three first mentioned. What was the point of coming on the train if you couldn't sit with your friends? Maybe I can scare people off I don't want to sit with, Serenity thought, pulling out a tray of desserts.

And Serenity came back, humming a nice little song. It was quite addicting.
"Papa, papa.. papa-raazi!" She sang the chorus quietly before sitting down, and taking out a nice book.
It was entitled...
"Legally Blonde"

A few minutes later, Angel got there, out of breath. "Sorry. I got... stalled by some second years."

Serenity started laughing. "How? Did they rape you or something?"

"Yes, of course they did." He sat next to her.

Serenity grinned. This ride was going to be much more fun than usual. All because of her crocodile skin boots. Thank god for those boots.
"Want a chocolate? I have taffy in my bag, too."

"No thanks, I'm not very partial to sweets."

"How'd your year go? I didn't talk to you much."

"Quite well. How was yours?"

"Good. Do you think I'm annoying?"

"Yes."

"Is that why you don't talk to me much?"

"Yes."

"Last question. Are you being honest?"

"I am being completely honest! I really don't know why, either!"

"...." Serenity hugged her knees, pouting at the wall, blinking quite a lot, trying not to cry.

"Don't cry, Miss Rosensteel... please."

"Well what am I supposed to do? You say my hair looks hideous and I'm annoying.."

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm saying these things..."

"...... It's my fault, you got hit with my boots, remember? Urgh. First I push you out of a window, and now this. At this rate, you'll break up with me by September, I'll lose all my shoes, and my hair, and I'll be dating Elddir."

"Elddir? He seems like a nice fellow."

"He's a pervert. And he's ugly. And he likes Olivia."

"I spoke to him the other day (well, actually, in february), he seems to have straightened up... Ah, well."

"Well, you get my point." Serenity crossed her arms and put down her head on the table, closing her eyes.
