Girl's Dorm

"Oh, what did you say?" asked Rachel happily, not hearing what Serenity had originally said.

"Hm? Oh, nothing, just thinking about that red sweater dress, for tomorrow. It'd be cute with a black belt. Yes, that's what I'll wear. And a ponytail." (In other words, the one in my avatar.) "But you need to make it clear to him you'll probably want to get back together later."

"Yeah, I know!" she laughed a bit, and took a closer look at the skirt. "It's cute, but do you REALLY think that red is your color, you know?"

"I have another one in black. I could wear a neon blue belt with it, it'd look nice- but don't you think it's a little goth like that?"

"Everyone needs their own little black dress," pointed out Rachel. "I don't think there is anything goth about that."

"You're totally right. Hopefully we won't go outside, it's getting colder, but it'll be perfect for staying in. I'll wear it tomorrow."

"Oh, okay. So, he's a Gryffindor you say? What does he look like?"

"He's Asian- black hair, likes base colors, one ear pierced- it's not the gay one, I checked, and a good face."

"I think I've seen him around before-now that I think about, I think he's in my Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He's pretty nice, I guess. Never talked to him though."

"He seems nice. He got me that chocolate cake I complain about."

"Mmm, chocolate cake. Sounds good, was it that kind with the strawberries and cherries and the fancy frosting?"

"YES! A whole slice. So now we're going out, because he took a bite and I demanded a date. Tomorrow. See?"

"WAIT-are you telling me that you two are going out over a BITE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE?" asked Rachel. She always knew that Serenity was a bit... odd with this kind of stuff, be she didn't know that she would go out with someone over a piece of chocolate cake.

"No, it's a flirting technique, silly! First, he crashed into me in the hall, and made me miss my morning yogurt. So, I went and told him he had better pay me back for it- giving him a deadline, and a hard-to get item. In that way, it's like a sport for them. And then, when he gives it to you, you flirt a bit more, have him eat dinner with you- but if he does one thing wrong, call him out on it, and say he owes you even more. Then give him a way out- ask him on a date, to repay all of the things he's done. If you show enough interest, he knows you actually want to go out with him, after getting to know him a bit, and then you go in for the kill on the date, and kiss him, and then.. BAM!"

"Oh yeah, of course," she mumbled as she walked over her trunk and pulled out an old issue of Witches' Weekly from last summer to read.

"It's all play, you know. He's a really good flirter."

"Yeah yeah," and her attention was now fully absorbed onto the magazine.

[What might BAM! be?]

[Leave it up to the imagination. ]

"Okay, then. I'm going to bed early tonight, so please try not to wake me up, kay?"

"No problem," And Rachel dimmed the light that was beside her bed for Serenity.

"Thanks!" Serenity crawled into bed and fell asleep, two hours early.

Serenity woke up the next morning at about ten thirty, smiling to herself. She slipped on the knee-length socks to go under her boots, then went over and did her hair and makeup, hair in a side ponytail, and put on some eyeliner and mascara and eyeshadow and all that jazz. Afterwards, she went over to her trunk and pulled out the entirely black sweater dress, and the neon blue belt, and put it on, tying the belt as tight as possible to make her look skinnier. XD. Finally, she put on her knee-high black boots, and went out the door, grabbing her purse (the same color as her belt) on her way. "See you Rachel! Meeting Alex. I'll tell you how it goes!"

And she was gone.

Serenity was lying down on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She was completely ready to talk to Rachel about what she's about to do bored, and her cats were swarming over the food bowl- the neglectful mother was too lazy to fill it.

So, (trying to make mundane life interesting here.) Serenity got up and tried to hover the food from the cat food bag into the dish. She got it halfway there.. And it fell, the pieces scattering all over the floor. Thankfully, her cats ran over and munched up the pieces, so her roommates wouldn't notice.

Serenity rolled over onto her bed again, taking out a book as a lap desk sort of thing, and a quill and ink, and started writing a letter.
