Amanda's New Apartment

"The closet I could do is ordering some Chinese food..."

"That'll work! What do you want, Kels!?" She sounded extremely nervous for some reason.

Amanda picked up Olivia's tone, but didn't say a word.

Kelsi eyed the two of them. "What's wrong?"

"Lin basically called me a traitor to my family and that I was a quote, 'Rebellious princess who sided with the dark!' and called Olivia, 'The hero of the night helping her best friend be evil.' But then she called us..." Amanda hesitated. "More than friends."

"I think I'll order some curried rice," Olivia interjected. "Wait, is that Chinese, or..."

Amanda followed the unspoken notion of changing the topic. "...I could also just make tacos?"

Kelsi frowned. "More than friends? What does she mean?" She totally ignored their desperate comments of food.

"That we were... dating."

"Which, again, I don't swing that way! Where the hell are people even getting that!?"

"Oh my gosh! Really?! She thought you guys were lesbians?! Is she a lesbian! That's so cool! I've always wanted a homosexual friend! What happened to her? Did you guys say yes? Wouldn't that be a threesome?!"

Amanda blushed, her entire face going red. "N-no! Because we aren't! I like guys! An-and..." Amanda was stumbling on her words, completely caught off guard. She thought Kelsi would understand they weren't.

Olivia got up and left the room.

Amanda was just staring at Kelsi with wide eyes, still blushing.

Kelsi blinked a few times. "Ohhh. Sorry... Really, I am. Umm..." Kelsi thought for a moment. "For dinner, let's have one of those pre-made chickens! You know, the ones that are all warm and cooked and all we have to do is cut them and eat them? Well.. I don't really like chicken that much, but it's easy, right? And we could cook some rice to go with it. But, I can't cook rice- The quantities are confusing. I made like, four cups because I thought that would be enough one time but it over cooked and went over all the sides, and all of a sudden I had SO much more rice than I started with and it was everywhere." She said, clearly trying to bring up another subject.

"Oh well, I'm pretty good with cooking so... Oh! There is a cute little grocery store across the street, and we could buy some pre-made there. We could go with one of the old fashion-y kinds, like you'd have on Thanksgiving, or fried."

You decide. There's this thing called Hamburger Helper, it's pretty easy!"

"Well, should I just make a quick run, or do you guys want to come?" She said this loud enough so Olivia in the other room could hear it.

"NO!"

"Well, I guess Olivia doesn't... Do you want to, Kelsi?"

"I suppose.. Hey, I'm really sorry, I don't think I'll be able to stay after all because I'll have to get to Hogwarts in a few days, and I want to meet up with my other friends before it starts. Plus, I need to try and find Serenity."

"It's fine, I understand. Will you stay for dinner, or are you going now?" Amanda was hiding her disappointment. A half an hour is a lot different then a week stay, especially since they hadn't see each other in a year. But her did understand that Kelsi probably had a lot to do in a little time.

"No! I just came here, I'm not leaving in such little time!" She said, sounding astounded by the idea. "I'll leave tomorrow morning- how's that! We'll hang out together all night. RIGHT LIV?!" She yelled the last part for Olivia to hear. "And I'll come with you to the store!"

Amanda grinned excitedly, as if she was a first year again. This time she was hiding guilt for thinking her friend would be such a jerk. "If we are hanging out all night, we'll need ice cream."

"YES! And chocolate, and... and oh, those little butter cookies from Scotland!"
