Welcoming Feast

"Well, if the Bloody Baron flies over and sees you..."

"He's a ghost, he can't do anything to me. I'll cuss at him."

"... Have you even ... Gah, I'm not defending you either way.

"That's fine."

The two girls were staring at Serenity with pure hatred. "If our leader hates you, then we shall hate you too!" Dolly cried, and pointed at Serenity. "You have been warned, girl! Hell is your life from now on!" She suddenly had an extremely creepy smile, and began laughing.

Serenity grinned at them. "She's just pissy cause I redid her room. Besides, you're eleven, you have no clue about these kinds of things. We've been friends since we were seven- she's just tempermental. Aren't ya, Livvie?"

"I met you last year..." Olivia glared at Serenity.

"Did not. I've known you since forever. No disowning me- even Angel and Elroy remember me."

"They're not here anymore, dimwit."

"So? My sister remembers- we used to go to your island every year. So there."

"Whatever..."

"I'm still your best friend. You can't make me stop being nice to you."

"You're not."

"I am. And I don't get why you don't feel the same way."

Dumbledore walked up on stage.

Serenity listened reluctantly.

He did the speech, about warning them, and sent them to bed.

The two girls glared at Serenity. "You will regret ever meeting us."

Olivia got out of there pretty quick.

Kelsi stood. It was a rather boring beginning feast. And she didn't even get any cream puffs. At the last minute, she grabbed a few, and left her blueberry cheesecake forgotten. Quickly biting into one, she waited for the sugary burst of cream to melt gracefully through her teeth, and for the pastry to fall apart into flakes of nothingness, until only the delicious, sweet aftertaste kicks in. And that would only be the first bite. The second one would be a burst of thick cream bursting through the small bun, and everything would be twice as sweet. Kelsi's teeth sunk through the pastry, only for her to taste... nothing. Well, they were the cream puffs, but there wasn't the usual spark. They tasted far too sweet, and the pastry didn't... flake. Or, well, it didn, but it didn't taste like what Kelsi had imagined it did from the other years. Even the cream had the same taste, texture, just... didn't zap. In fact, it tasted rather disgusting. Slowly, stunned, Kelsi placed the half-eaten cream puff onto her plate, and left the Great Hall with Amanda and Libby.

She was confused. Taking a bite into another cream puff, it tasted even worse. The too-sweet cream felt all sticky and gooey, and the pastry seemed soggy. It was the same recipe, just Kelsi didn't like cream puffs anymore.

"You two are so weird, you know," Serenity said, walking out behind them. "Seriously. You're mad at me why? Because my friend and I are in a little fight. It's absolutely none of your business." She went off to the Ravenclaw common room before the knocker started scolding people for being late.
